Because by the time Roger was at his strongest, he only had one man who could match him 100%. This man man whos known as Whitebeard became the strongest man after Roger's death. If we include that Garp could push Roger when Roger reached his prime to a near death, it wouldn't make any sense whatsoever. Reason being, the gap between Whitebeard and Garp was big enough that it is clear for anyone Whitebeard was stronger than him. This is also backed by the fact that even though Whitebeard lost more power than Garp due to illness, he was still the strongest man. Therefore, we can logically conclude that Garp was strong enough to do what Roger said, but couldn't do so at Roger's absolute strongest.

So ur concluding that without even knowing wether Garp fought him at his peak or not ....
Nothing in manga suggestes that Garp out matched by WB exept his title of WSM even WB admitted that I can't be strongest forever....Lol

We are not going to change our minds anyway ...IMO WB would barely mange to win against Garp like Akainu did with Aokiji ...I don't think the Gap b/w them is any bigger than that....In fact Garp had a better chance of winning due to WB sickness and Garp is perfectly alright though we don't have enough knowledge on his powers so I'll go with WB...

Lol why so dense man? Saying that Whitebeard was the only man that could match Roger refers to Roger being at his strongest. We all know that Lucci had a near death fight with Luffy but obviously that isn't happening when Luffy reaches his prime, correct? Same applies here. Garp could manage to do that to Roger, but not in the end.

Yeah so you accept that WB being the one to have the title of strongest man means he was stronger by a good amount(not the shit Akainu/Aokiji or Luffy/Lucci gap because it's extremely strong) and you say shit like this? It's very obvious that Garp would put up the toughest fight against Roger/WB but it's not going to be something like that... High difficulty sounds much more logical.

I am aware that Garp tied with Roger. What you need to realise is that Garp didn't bring Roger to that state when Roger was at his prime. Whitebeard and Roger in their prime were signifcantly stronger than Garp hence why Whitebeard became the undisputed strongest man after Roger's death. Whitebeard did also lose more strength over the years than Garp and despite that he was still stronger than Garp.

and where are you getting this information about garp not cornering/fighting with roger when roger was in his prime, Roger was the pirate king WHILE in his prime.

you cannot contradict the fact that that Garp and roger nearly killed each other COUNTLESS times, as stated in the manga, and it does not say it happened before roger's prime.
