Mom/Dad side of the family.

I'm desperate for your thoughts on this issue.

Is their such a thing as 'spending too much time with one side of the family'. Someone accused me of spending too much time with one side of the family, which is untrue, but I feel pretty bad.

No, i all depends on who you are closer too, you can't make people like you just because your related. Thing dont react well when bonds are forced anyway. If you would like to you should try and show another side of your family some time for bonding, but you dont have too, you make not mix well with the otherside....in a nutshell, follow your heart.

^^This basically. I wouldn't know about sides of a family as much since I didn't know either of my Grandmas or Grandpas so I guess I'll let others explain.

You shouldn't feel bad man, maybe that side of your family are more friendly and well more comfortable than the other.
Everyone spends more time with others without even knowing it themselves.

It's not quite a bad thing, but if your family members are important to you just sort out who you feel as if you should spend more time with. Personally I don't spend enough time with my dad's side. I don't live with him and I have two younger half siblings that I really care for, yet haven't had to the time to go see. If it's wrong..? Well, that just depends on you my friend.

I just hang out with my dad's family all the time, I just find being around them more enjoyable than my other side. Nothing really wrong with that, you shouldn't have to make yourself uncomfortable

personally I'm very close to each parent but obviously my dad's side because it's much bigger and they all live close xd it's which ever one you feel most comfortable that you should hang out with

Yeah I know how you feel, sometimes I get accused of spending "too much time with one side" , so I try talk as much as I can with both sides *_*

man, id rather not spend time with either of my family member. or at least not for a while. not because either side is worse (although my mother's is quite religious, and im not), but because my folks are crazy and ignorant. also i need to focus on my own needs and play ketchup with my life. a difficult thing to do whilst always being preoccupied with visits, birthdays, holidays, doing things for others; and im also quite lazy. all and all a family can make you a better, worse, or both, person. just do what you can within reason of your own well being.

I don't understand how its anyone's business.Its your life,and you spend time with who you feel the most comfortable. If anyone has a problem with that,then they should change their behavior around you so that you generally want to spend more time with them.

But I suggest you should spend time with both sides,so that it seems equivalent at an extent,in order to escape criticism.

My next question is, is it obligatory that I get to know more of my mom's side?

translation: Do I have to meet EXTENDED family members of a particular side?
