they are a combo thats how they do it they have traied to be able to do this combo its a special kind of chakra manipulation needed to walk on this liquid.....thats why kakuza cant walk on it(and im sure someone as powerful as him would have walked on it if he could)

actually you wouldn't destroy all the sharks with one chidori.. chidori is jutsu for one/few targets, but there's thousands of sharks coming at you so it's best to block them with some wall jutsus and stuff =/
