missing-nin..??

i just dont understand the meaning of the term "missing-nin", what does this mean?? that sasuke is no longer considered to be a member of the leaf village? that anyone who sees him has the permission to kill him? or is it an order to kill him?

please help..

It means that he has officially deserted the village and he has done something bad so the village will not have place for him any more, and yea. they have a permission to kill him... since hes a criminal and if he does bad stuff, the konoha will have the fault for it, and he knows konohas secrets., but if he's a missing-nin, they wont... so all the countrys are his enemies..

a missing nin in layman's terms is a ninja that have deserted his village. The village is then required to eliminate the subject due to various reason. First of all the ninja have obtained knowledge about the villages secrets and that could compromise the villages security. Secondly the ninja could commit crimes that will bring the village in bad light as the ninja is still associated with the village even though he acts on his own.

Sasuke have partake in the second option that I provided you.

a little wrong.. Bingo-book is used by anbus... and he was in bingobook long before he was listed as missing nin, remember, sais mission.

Root listed him as a missing nin without tsunades permission, now that danzou is hokage, sasuke is missing nin and now he is a targeted by the whole village, not only anbu.

missing nin means that shinobi is too powerful and he can take care of himself and everyone who trys to stop them will fail...thats how missing nins acting they think they are there own gods or leaders whatever....

Woah, it's almost as if you quoted Devlin.

As stated by others, missing-nin is the term for someone who's lost their affilation to the designated village. Danzo has authorized the elimination of Sasuke because of Clouds request. Assaulting/kidnapping Kirabi is regarded as such a crime that would put Leaf in a bad light.
