Sharingan genjutsu maybe only for 1 vs 1, but when you do its a game ender, while fodder sound genjutsu might effect multiple, but every single one of them can possibly break out with the "kai" seal.

Sound genjutsu works on vibrations, the water inside your body can paralyse you just as easily, covering your ears isn't doing anything aha :')

Sound Genjutsu is far too lacklusture compared to even regular genjutsu. Ma and Pas genjutsu was literally used at point blank range and after Jiraiya used swamp and of Katon to incapacitate and blind two of the three paths. These are hardly merits of a good genjutsu. The flute Genjutsu can be countered with Futton, as Sound is nothing more than pressure waves. Even reducing the temperature of the surrounds would reduce the waves effectiveness, but then we might be getting too scientific here.

Sharingan on the other hand has been shown to best Genjutsu specialists even at Base level - Orochimaru, Chee, and Kurenai - hence it appears to be vastly impressive. A single sharingan eye has shown to put two people under genjutsu - shown through Kakashi - hence this talk of one of one seems out of place, when two eyes should be able to do more. It also works regardless of range and speed as well. And cannot be broken without intrusion from another party.

Far too many advantages for 3T genjutsu.

If the sound is loud enough it can do both. I mean look at white rage.

So far nobody complained about sound genjutsu loudness, also the melody and the frequency will get distorted from passing through body as medium

I'm not saying someone has. I'm just saying it's not outside the realm of possibility.
