Whilst you're correct about editor notes in general, this particular case is none.
It is Sakura's interior monologue indeed; just like it has been throughout the entire chapter.

Thoughts aren't solely indicated through bubbles. What to make of it, though, is an entirely different pair of shoes.
To believe, however, that an editor would refer to Sakura using the pronoun I and subjectively adressing Tsunade as sama is but foolish.

Actually, your wrong.

On the last panel there is always an editors note. If you claim that wasn't it then where is it?

Ok, so alot of hate has been going around because of this panel and what, "Sakura said". "Tsunade-sama, I think I've finally caught up with them".

People seem to think that it's Sakura saying this. This is not the case. That is called an editor's note; notice how there isn't a speech bubble and it's just plain text.

That means that it is just an extra note that the editor added in at the end and it doesn't even show up in the volumes. Also keep in mind that Kishi doesn't write those editors notes. The editor does. Kishi is the writer.

Here's another example of an editors note:

What character is saying this? None! It's the editor that is saying it. That's why it's called an editors note.

So can people stop using this against her?

I understand about the 'editor's notes' that appear towrads tbe end but what gets me is why is he talking in first person, and not third person? Wouldn't it say something like 'Tsunade-sama, It seems that SAKURA could finally catch up with them' not 'that I could catch up with them?' I don't understand why the editor would use 'I' as if describing himself as Sakura. All of the other sodenotes are like 'A HERO RETURNS!' or 'THE LEAF'S YELLOW FLASH AND RED HANABARO MAKE THE ORANGE NINJA!' Something that doesn't use first person? This one however, was directly saying 'I' as in her.

Now the EXPLOSION part seems to be the sidenote. It states the title of the episode at the end of the chapter, indicating the revelence involved. Also, there are notes like that ALL throughout the manga, especially when a thought has a more deeper meaning than most tht would need a 'thought bubble'
Example:

See how there are the thought bubbles and then the talking without them? She is indicating a personal highlighted thought more in depth than a mere thought bubble, indicating it could be a subconscious thought.

Now here is an editors note:

See how the editor uses 'He' and not 'I' like Sakura did? This is a note imo, while the other was clearly indicated towards Sakura's thoughts. She said 'I THINK' not 'I AM' meaning she thinks she is as strong as them, not even basically saying she is. She just feels it. This is all my personal opinion though.

(Sorry if the pics don't come up like i intended, I never used this method of posting pics before so...yeah, I tried lol)

Ones thoughts are illustrated without speech bubbles too.
