This may seem cruel, but is it possible that Minato made the wrong choice when Tobi kidnapped Naruto? Should Minato have chosen to save Kushina and seal the kyuubi even at the expense of Naruto's life?? Of course, even had Minato been successful, I can only imagine his life would be hell bent on revenge against Tobi had he made that choice, so the leaf would have still lost its Hokage. However, strategically, would it have been the correct choice?
Personally, the strength of the characters goes:
1. Naruto, if he is truly the reincarnation of the SO6P
2. Minato=Itachi, with the edge to Minato
3. Everybody else
The fact that the third, during his battle with Orochimaru, made certain that Oro didn't resurrect Minato over Hashirama and Tobirama suggests to me that the third respected Minato's strength over theirs.
Finally, after reading some of the posts about Minato's battle with Tobi. Make no mistake Minato whupped Tobi's a$$. IMO, he could have disposed of Tobi during their battle, but Minato's focus was always about the village and doing what was necessary to save it. For instance, Minato chose to rest control of the kyuubi from Tobi as opposed to hitting him with another rasengan when he used FTGT suggests that Minato's goal was not to defeat/destroy Tobi.
