This may seem cruel, but is it possible that Minato made the wrong choice when Tobi kidnapped Naruto? Should Minato have chosen to save Kushina and seal the kyuubi even at the expense of Naruto's life?? Of course, even had Minato been successful, I can only imagine his life would be hell bent on revenge against Tobi had he made that choice, so the leaf would have still lost its Hokage. However, strategically, would it have been the correct choice?
Personally, the strength of the characters goes:
1. Naruto, if he is truly the reincarnation of the SO6P
2. Minato=Itachi, with the edge to Minato
3. Everybody else
The fact that the third, during his battle with Orochimaru, made certain that Oro didn't resurrect Minato over Hashirama and Tobirama suggests to me that the third respected Minato's strength over theirs.
Finally, after reading some of the posts about Minato's battle with Tobi. Make no mistake Minato whupped Tobi's a$$. IMO, he could have disposed of Tobi during their battle, but Minato's focus was always about the village and doing what was necessary to save it. For instance, Minato chose to rest control of the kyuubi from Tobi as opposed to hitting him with another rasengan when he used FTGT suggests that Minato's goal was not to defeat/destroy Tobi.

....wtf?

Yes, Minato made the correct choice in many ways than one. He was the hokage meaning its his job to protect his village above all else. He was also a father, meaning his job was to protect his son above all else.

What you just describe would have not only made Minato abandon his own newborn son, but his village as well, making him not only a traitor but a scumbag. The only thing he could have done differently was not sacrifice himself; man up and live without Kushina and raise his son correctly.

I think he made the right choice, his life would have been terrible if he would have let Naruto die that day.

he could have still sealed it in naruto. That was the point of him using the eight trigrams seal. The death reaper seal was for he could seal i little of him and kushina in naruto which kinda made no sense....
He could have been with naruto for the rest of his life teaching him techs and helping him get thru hard times but you decide not to just for he could see his mom for a few minutes and the leaf loses their strongest ninja and their leader.....

nah that's because minato soul was sealed inside the death god belly, not because hiruzen cancel it

"nah that's because minato soul was sealed inside the death god belly, not because hiruzen cancel it"--

Whether Hiruzen stopped the resurrection of Minato or not, is immaterial. The fact is he stated that the resurrection of the 4th must be stopped. He could have said that about the 1st or the 2nd, but he did not. He specifically stated that the 4th needed to be.

Also, if Minato had saved Kushina, they wouldn't have needed another Jinchuriki, and they would have had the advantage of knowing that Tobi was after the kyuubi.

No the main purpose of the Reaper Death Seal was to seal the Yang half of the Nine Tails chakra in the Death God. The entire beast could not go into Naruto
