When Minato is serious, something like what happened against Tobi happens. A guys who is fast enough to dodge Raikage's speed and even BM Naruto's speed with help(Kakashi and Gai) isn't able to react to Hiraishin. That's speed

Minato's FTG is masterfully used by a brilliant shinobi.

Could it be used to defeat high-level shinobi by itself? No. It is simply a teleportation jutsu.

Could it be used in conjunction with other techniques to defeat high-level shinobi? Absolutely.

I've been saying this ever since I joined NB. FTG is overrated. It's not speed, it's teleportation. Someone with a better reaction time than Minato can beat him at his own game.
