Minato would hammer Itachi!

I doubt he would "hammer" him. It would be a great battle, no doubt. the determining factors are if Itachi will run out of chakra (Minato has plenty), if Minato can finish quickly with FTG, and what if anything can he do against Itachi's Susanoo and its Legendary weapons, which are described as "boasting absolute perfection in both offense and defense". It would be a bad ass battle, no doubt.

I've no clue who would win.

It's simple..going by manga knowledge, aka without knowledge of Itachi's abilities... Minato loses,

With knowledge Minato winss...

Without knowing of tsukyomi, and looking at itachi's eyes, Minato will get 1 shotted by it...

Some of you will come with the argument that "Minato won't look at itachi's eyes, he's a genius"

you also fail to realize if he doesn't look at itachi's eyes, he's open to a amaterasu, and he wont be able to dodge what he can't see coming..

With knowledge of both these thigns however, Minato can play his battleplan like kakashi and naruto, Using shadow clones, having 1 look at itachi , shit like that... his chances of winning would have greatly increased
