Minato was a genius -> Naruto is a genius too!

We know that Minato became a totally dominating Ninja. He created some awesome Jutsus. He defeated the Kyuubi, and even gave some of the power to his son Namikaze Naruto (since anime episode when Naruto is joining the war, it is said Naruto NAMIKAZE and not UZUMAKI...??). He was cool, calculating, and strong. I'm sure much of this came naturally.

However, his son Naruto is a hardworker. He fails and then masters what he couldn't accomplish prior. Where does he get this side from? Is Naruto only a hardworker with a great mentality, or is he also a genius?

If not, was Minato a hardworker and became very strong by working hard? We know it took him what... Three years to complete Rasengan? That's quite a long time. Does that mean that Naruto might be a genius ninja too since he basically mastered Rasengan in a week? Does that make Naruto a genius since he learned to use a BOSS Summon as a Genin? Is Naruto a genius since he can do Tajju Kage Bunshin and nobody else can? Or is he just accessing his Chakra to it's fullest extent?

Naruto is only 17 now, and right now he is one of the commanders of an entire Alliance army. He has the respect from everyone, even from the villains. He befriended the Kyuubi and even got Bijuu Mode. I mean, is hardwork all enough for this, or does all of this also mean that Naruto is as well a genius as his father, Minato was?
