Minato stalemated both Raikage and Bee multiple times and was regarded as a ninja of unparalleled ninja by the same ninja (Jiraiya) that Kisame dejectedly admitted inferiority to. The only reason Kisame trounced Bee was due to a Jinchuuriki's natural characteristic of being coated in a massive armor of chakra which enabled Kisame to humiliate him via chakra absorption which isn't relevant here. Also, Kisame was not in Itachi's league, hardly.

Not every top tier, but he's above most Kages due to his preeminent speed, hinted many times within the manga.

Fair enough, as long as you can explain some of your argument without resulting to lazily using the word 'speedblitz'- which you apparently can, I got no problem with the idea. I still think he has a little much to deal with under the conditions with the both of them. Kisame VS Itachi involved him pressuring Itachi into using Amateresu. It didn't damage Kisame but made Itachi seriously desperate. Neither ninja used their final awakening or true trump card.

With Kakazu added too, Minato is going to more than sweat. Call that exchange filler but it happened and you know isn't outside of reality. They're highly skilled and intelligent ninja too and not just big-scale attack chakra tanks.
