All i am going to say is that itachi is also an explosive tag user, or should i say he tags his explosions with kunai's.

Being the best shuriken/kunais thrower in the series, add on the explosive tags and the explosion should be more than enough to divert the course of any projectile, whether heavy or light, sword or a kunai.

What confuses me is when people say itachi or any other susano user will need to activate full form susano, when in reality it is a waste of chakra.

Not to undermine minato, but susano's first stage is enough to defend the user from what we have seen from him.
This first stage has enough feats to tank any of minato's attack we have seen so far.

First stage susano is more than enough fro what we have seen, but conveniently as well it takes less chakra than its more advanced form which is a +.

I have participated in my fair share of this thread in particular and while an itachi fan, i have good reasons to say from what we have seen, he takes this.

I am not getting into this though

Yeah, Itachi wins this.

-With knowledge on Minato's tech, Itachi won't even bother to engage him in CQC. Any Hiraishin Kunai tossed at him are deflected by Itachi's own Kunai

-He isn't blitzing him with his Base Speed due to the Sharingan, he isn't as fast as v2 A on foot so he isn't escaping Sharingan's vision.

-If he wants to dodge Amaterasu he needs to keep his eyes focused on Itachi's eyes (Not like that should be possible as he doesnt have knowledge on Amaterasu so logically he can't dodge what he can't see coming) if he does that its Genjutsu GG. If he doesn't its Amaterasu GG.

-Rasengan is easily blocked by Susanoo.

-If Bunta is summoned Itachi simply controls him and forces him to fight on his side.

-Also contrary to what people think, Minato can't teleport Susanoo nor can he go inside of it.

honestly i tihnk he could tele into susanoo but it would mean death for minato why would he wana go there. and yes itachi wins this tru changing some of knowledge maybe then minato

Well, gee, let's see.

- 3 people are required to collaborate to use FTG, a jutsu he uses instantly.
- Kept Kurama inside Kushina
- Used FTG to escape the explosive tags
- Used FTG to save Kushina, twice.
- Used FTG to avoid Tobi.
- Used FTG to avoid Tobi again.
- Used FTG, rasengan + FTG tag + contract seal on Tobi.
- FTG's a Kyuubi bijuudama away.
- Summoned Gamabunta, something a young Naruto could not do alone, regardless of him having huge loads of chakra. Everytime Naruto summoned Bunta he had kyuubi help.
- FTG'd Kurama away.
- Used RDS and absorbed half of Kurama's chakra, still being able to move and use jutsus. This alone shows great chakra.
- Used Four Symbols Seal x 2 while being impaled by a huge claw.
- Put his and Kushina's chakra in Naruto.

- Base Naruto having more chakra than Karin despite Naruto being only half Uzumaki and as such half of his mother's genes.

All of this in what, 1 hour?

Naruto without Kurama did not have huge loads of chakra.

In part II, Naruto was stated to have double Kakashi's stamina. So it's not mindblowingly huge by any means.

Minato summons Gamabunta. From there on, Itachi's normal arsenal won't be enough to deal with him. He would have to ressort to his MS techniques(more like Amaterasu or Susanoo) to deal with him since tsukuyomi is only a close range genjutsu. Using anything less than that would be meaningless since either Minato or Gamabunta could nullity any genjutsu he could try to use to either of them, not even as if he has displayed long range genjutsu type to begin with, when we take into consideration how huge Gamabunta is with Minato siting on top of him. So as said, either Itachi ressorts to Susanoo or Amaterasu, or he gets killed. Gamabunta's raw power is strong enough to destroy a forest, cut even a Bijuu's arm like Shukaku or hold Kyubi for a certain amount of time.

At the same moment, during the fight, Minato would be throwing kunais everywhere with Gamabunta using his long range water jutsu or oil, which have shown to be particularly effective against Susanoo:

. Minato can even play smart and combine his markings or kunais along with Gamabunta's suiton attacks to make them more difficult to notice, so at this point in time, blitz and finish off Itachi.

Anyway during the fight, Minato would be placing kunais everywhere on the battlefield. And more the time will come, more it will be difficult for Itachi, not only to focus on the enemy(Gamabunta and Minato), but noticing every kunais. So his movements would be limited as well.

That's why he would have to be careful. With a location with kunais already almost placed everywhere during the fight by Minato, the simple fact of concentrating to use Amaterasu on Gamabunta, would give opportunity to Minato to finish him off in a blitz as well. Even the Susanoo's natural raw power is not enough to contain Gamabunta, so from there he would have to ressort to the weapons(totsuka and Yata). He could seal Gamabunta with totsuka, but that's if Gamabunta is stupid enough not to dodge the attack(he is not immobile like Nagato), because Gamabunta has shown impressive speed feat even complimented in his databook, despite his height

Ultimately, even if somehow, Itachi manages to seal him, we've seen the sealing process of totsuka takes a lot of time, which would give more than enough time to Minato to drop another huge frog on Itachi, and thus crushing him with food cart destroyer

Not even mentioning the superiority in stamina in the question, since it would make this fight more like a stomp in Minato's favor U_U

Sasuke's genjutsu skills would be a subset of Itachi's skills. Itachi's much more advanced & hyped in the area.
