I think as long as Minato doesn't know Tobi's secret it wouldn't matter if he has sage mode or not. He is fast and smart enough without it too. So he needs to think of something to land a punch or else it wouldn't matter.

i was thinking when the 9 tails attack the village back when minato was hokage. and discover that tobi was controling the demon fox ..... and he seal the 9 tails in inside naruto i think he did this to help naruto win against tobi or madara he said it him self

but people think that he was not strong enough to go one on one with tobi or madara ..... but think about this the demon fox with out a host is the most powerful being in naruto so if u can control the demon fox the only thing that can beat u is another person that can control the demon fox too like the 1 hokage thats why madara lost to the 1 hokage . but if tobi or madara would it decide to go one on one against minato with out the demon fox..... minato probably was a master on the sage mode probably better than jiraya and with his speed and the rasengan minato would won on a 1 vs 1 fight with tobi madara

MINATO NEVER HAD SAGE MODE just because he could summon toads doesnt mean crap... naruto could summon toads during the friggin chunnin exams and he had no sage mode.... furthurmore when naruto was learing sage mode they said it required alot of chakra and stamina and determination and only people like jiraiya and naruto could attain it... they never mentioned the fourth... now all this doesnt mean he DIDNT know sage mode BUT the manga has NEVER said that he could... i hope that clarifys anyones doubts

there's no proof of that. it said that minato only made a contract with the toads but it NEVER said he never had sage mode. if jiraiya trained him, then we can almost assume that minato also achieved sage mode like jiraiya. why would minato pass up that power?

It was NEVER stated that Minato had Sage Mode. He had a contract with the toads, but even Naruto did before he had Senjutsu abilities. As of now he's known for his Flying Thunder God Jutsu and the Rasengan. If he had Sage Mode it would be ridiculous because Naruto is supposed to surpass him. Minato is dead and we keep expanding his abilities, in this way Naruto will never surpass him. He supposedly already has. I don't think Sage Mode would have made much a difference against Madara because unfortunately I think he's freaky strong, if the Fourth couldn't even land a hit on him without it and everything was seen through I highly doubt that Sage Mode would help that much more except maybe make him a slightly better match than Madara. Supposedly Madara is able to summon the Kyuubi, whether this means that he can actually summon it with a technique or create another human malice to bring it their the fact is, that even if it doesnt start the battle with him, it can still be brought if it is done with some form of technique.

im not saying he wasnt a sage im just saying i dont like to believe anything unless it was stated in the manga.

Just because he could summon all the toads doesnt mean he underwent the sage training.

Odds are he did since Jiraya did and that was his master. But then again Jiraya never took naruto to do that training The king frog suggested it

does anyone know how one gets selected to go into sage mode training. Was jiraya picked by the king toad also or do you know im curious.

If Pain is soooo mighty, why is he serving Madara? Madara can phase through attacks.

I personally think that before sealing 9 tailes into naruto, he was fighting madara.... if you remember minato appeared at the very last moment when many of konoha's ninjas had already died. we know that kohage is not allowed to leave village. plus konoha is not that big not to notice an atack on village and be late for the battle. so...that's why I think that when fox atacked konoha, minato realized there was someone controling the beast and went to fight him.
I suppose madara left the fight and ran away and only after that minato was able to take care of the demon fox

Ok, but that does not mean that Minato had sage mode because he is Jiraiyas student. Sages have to have a large amount of Chakra, and we do not know if Minato had such a Chakra level.
