Well if you read the Manga then you would know Kishi downplayed Edo Minato in many ways and did the same with other Edos as well. Minato was reflecting on his regrets for a large part of the war and has been made a supporting role. Minato's genius have been hyped by Jiraiya (on more than one occasion) and Tsunade (didn't object when Jiraiya stated there haven't been a genius like Minato since when they know about Shikaku, Shikamaru, Itachi, Kakashi). Bee was impressive with how Minato was able to analyze the tbb and make the rasengan from copying the process. No one in the Narutoverse has shown Minato's analyzing skills even when they have Sharingans, Byakugans, sensory abilities. Who was able to deduce Obito's Kamui by seeing it once then further breaking it down by seeing it a second time? Kakashi and Sasuke both couldn't do so with their Sharingans, Karin couldn't do so either.

What does looking the same have to do with anything? Naruto came back in his normal sage mode, but in that 'normal' sage mode was able to use physical abilities he never had before, like Dodging Limbo, kicking Gudou Dama's, and blitzing a Juubi jin Madara, whereas before he couldn't keep up with a juubi jin even in BIJUU SAGE MODE. Clearly this proves that Rikuudo's chakra enhanced their base physical abilities. Sasuke too was being blitzed by Juubito and couldn't even blitz blind Madara none jin Madara in Kenjutsu, but after Rikuudo chakra he blitzing Juubi jin one rinnegan Madara. That's a clear physical upgrade.
