once the kunai are scattered over the floor, jiraya wont be able to hit minato with his rasengans, minato would then attack him with w.e element jutsu he had, we know he had a element, we just didnt see it , they said he died before he could infuse rasengan with his element, it's probaly wind, and naruto got it also

m/j both powerfull. minato - speed/jiraiya - experience. It makes you wonder though, if even Itachi doubted his chances against jiraiya, itachi being a shinobi who can put you under genjutsu with the simple pointing of a finger {that hes propably picked his bum with many times} I also believe that as soon as itachi places you under a genjutsu hes got you in the palm of his stink hand (unless you harness the sharingan which in that case it becomes unpredictable pending on the ability of the user but were talking about jiraiya so.. na). If jiraiya can do well against a powerfull genjutsu user then how would he do against a powerfull user of haste. Jiraiya with his powerfull summonings could propably cover alot of ground, In the end I think minato, if you wanna think a bit deeper and take every bit of info into consideration i believe it would either be close or jiraiya.

You're underestimating Minato he is very powerful. Idc if you think certian characters can beat him or not, but you just can't deny he's a powerful shinobi.

Jiraiya has enough to pose some problems, whether those problems will be big or small are yet to be known...however I agree, more or less an average difficulty for Minato.

In my opinion every hokage was a top notch shinobi.
