[Predictions] Minato is reason Madara is "Shell of his former self"

Currently it looks like Minato has the upper hand in the battle but we all know the outcome and I'm sure Madara has something up his sleve waiting to use on Minato probably in the next chapter to change the tides of the battle.

I think most people assume the battle with the 1st hokage is the reason why Itachi made that comment that Madara is a "shell of his former self" but im starting to believe it'll be because of the battle with the 4th right now. Why?

I think its kinda odd that Madara/Tobi is absent from the storyline while Naruto is aged 1-12 years old. If he was powerful enough to think he could attack the entire village and fight both the 3rd/4th Hokage at once, how could he not wait 2-3 more years and take the 9 tails away from Naruto when hes a small child? Hed already proven that he could easily infultrate the village and I dont beileve Naruto was being heavily watched until Jiraiya was training him - and Madara must have known the 9 tails was sealed inside Naruto since he was there when it happened.

Things I think will happen:

Madara is going to turn the tides against Minato, but I believe the 4th will break Madara's mask and we might get a hint into who he really is or whos body hes using or why hes such a mystery. Because his mask changes after the 9tails attack.

Minato realizes he has no chance to defeat Madara and uses either some advanced space/time ninjutsu to send Madara to another dimension or uses an advanced Uzumaki seal to seal away most of his powers for 14 years - Hence the reason why he is absent from the storyline for so long (or Kishi hadn't thought him up yet which is probably likely the case - but this is the only way it makes sense)

I think this next chapter will reveal more then the previous few did. And I think we will learn a little bit more about Madara.

a few things i noticed while reading this..

If he was powerful enough to think he could attack the entire village and fight both the 3rd/4th Hokage at once, how could he not wait 2-3 more years and take the 9 tails away from Naruto when hes a small child? after minato passed naruto was heavily watched by the 3rd hokage.. also known as the god of shinobi.. and most of the jounins knew as well.. they didn't like naruto, but they sure as knew his power..

well you see, i don't think minato is the reason.. because if he was, he wouldn't need the kyuubi's power.. he would be able to handle it with his own power..

i think its the opposite.. he might just want to be testing himself with minato.. because you see, like i said before, the 3rd was called "god of shinobi".. he was supposedly the strongest hokage..

with minato, maybe he already thought of himself as a shell of his former self, and maybe he wanted to test his strength.. maybe to see who was faster or something.. considering they are both space/time users..

I think you're forgetting the fact that if Madara didn't wait Naruto wouldn't get the nine-tails ??

Still that being said, it very well could be that Minato inflicts enough damage on him for him to have to wait this long to make his move, it's kinda dumb to think that "hey let's wait untill they're all more powerful before I execute my plans" easy victory's are overrated so it has to have had a good reason.

Minato tries to seal away both the Kyuubi and Madara, and like the 3rd fails when sealing Orochimaru after sealing the 1st and 2nd.

It was a good idea, but I think his powers were lost after the fight with Hashirama. The reason why Madara attacked when he did was because he needed the power of the Kyuubi to destroy the village. This was his one chance to gain control of the Kyuubi because the seal would be weakened when Kushina gave birth. The reason why he hasn't attacked in between the current time and this attack 16 years ago is because he couldn't gain access to the Kyuubi and him by himself would not be strong enough.

I think whats going to happen is when Minato returns to the village after thinking hes defeated Madara hes going to realize the only way to stop the Kyuubi is to seal it into a new host. Knowing that Naruto has Kushina's blood, its the only logical choice. Madara will return in time to see the sealing process take place and now without the Kyuubi to aid him he will have to retreat.
