Well in my opinion theres has to be a reason why minato would be the best ninja ever. and it will be because his son his naruto so naruto has to surpass his father ofcourse his father needs to be the greatest ninja ever is the father of the main character.........and i am not a fan of minato my best character is itachi xD

Minato? Overrated? No... This can't be... Oh look naruto_14 and his friend were here not surprising. He may be overrated at times but that's just the way some people talk about him. He is the father of the protagonist right? Eh.

Aside from the obvious (speed, Space-Time, Flying Thunder God), the ability to quickly analyse is one of his great strengths. He analysed Kakashi's Chidori on first sight (Gosh, so good). Also remember he didnt have speed alone cos he warned Kakashi about his technique relying on speed and not being able to see other things around, yet he used great speed. Helllllloooooo.
As for Sasuke winning BEE, don't forget the 8 tails asked Bee why he didn't fight Sasuke knowing Bee would easily win and Bee said he wanted to get away from the village! You can't even begin to compare Minato and Sasuke. We can begin to talk of Hashirama and Minato. But Sasuke! Not there yet.
To say Minato is overated is also to say Hanzo is overated. I personally have not seen any special technique from him (aside from the poison/ summoning Salamander). correct me if I'm wrong. But Kishi said he's great, so he's great! I'll deal with it.

He didn't create the jutsu for Naruto. He created it to create a new, powerful technique but he did't live long enough to finish it. And yes, Sasuke is no match at all. At this stage, I'm not even sure Sasuke can hold his own against Madara without the intention to protect any village. Assume the fourth didn't have to protect the village in his fight against Madara and the Kyuubi. OMG!fuuton said:

i read one page and got sick of this thread cause of the minato haters.. but i will post because all that needs to be said is that kishi (the creator) has made this character the strongest there ever was...(to date). if you dont like it stop watching naruto. also to anyone that argues this fact read the latest manga because the strongest living shinobi at this time (raikage) says that he thought minato could never be surpassed. so there is the proof ladies and gentlemen.
how dare you!! disrespect the namikaze minato - the guy was tagged flee on sight - and he hit madara with a rasengan - had their fight went on madara would have been used as a puppet by sasori - you fool -

Minato captured the Kyuubi alone after rescuing both his wife and child, again ALONE! Oh, and beating Madara. AND WE ALL SAW HOW HE DID IT! Silly me, I must be on drugs to believe he is awesome. Honestly, I could only see Itachi Uchiha playing in the same league so far throughout the anime.
Second class would be the Raikage, Madara, that little flying grandpa Kage from the Rock village, oh and KIMIMARO!...and maybe Kisame and Guy.
Rising up to this class are Naruto with control of the fox and Sasuke with EMS, but basically, we still have no idea what exactly they can do with their new powers, so let's keep them out of it. To be quite honest, I see Minato as one of the best NINJA, Naruto with fox's powers and Sasuke with EMS and that Susan(o-oh!) thingy look like something else. It's going toward Dragon's balls D), and I don't like it... I hope it switches back to it's own unique style, or gets more similar to Death note, or FMA, where characters gain more in depth, intelligence and complexity, instead of just in shining new overnight powers gained through love and hate. The concept is simply ridiculous...
