Minato is not fast only FTG is

Dude notice the distance between Minato and Tobi. He couldnt have grabbed Naruto if he had teleported that far from Tobi.
He grabbed Naruto from Tobi, and his momentum carried him to the wall.

this post says it all. His base speed is clearly impressive, He is not supernaturally fast by the manga standards but is as fast as your top rank jonin like kakashi

Title says it all. I made a post/poll awhile ago regarding his speed and people truly believe minato is faster than everyone without FTG.

Some even said he was faster than Goku without FTG lol... get real

Minato is only fast due to FTG.. His base speed is not fast since he has 0 feats or hype stating it.

Minato s pretty fast without FTG, He used base speed to go from where Kushina was to catching Naruto who was in the air right in front of Obito (where Obito threw him) and landed on the wall behind Obito. As you can See Minato was fast enough to get Naruto before Obito could Stab Naruto with a Kunia.

Tobirama stated that Minato's Shunshin (body flicker) is better than his. The order they came in is Minato, Hiruzen, Tobirama then Hashirama.

Minato was capable to react to him despite not even looking at him at all(distracted by the fact of saving his son). I'll explain

1- On the first pic, he turned himself from the opposite direction of Jubito because he noticed Jubito traversed from the ground to attack his son behind him, and then proceeded to use the handseal to try to save his son(again not looking at Jubito's lower body in this case)

2- On this second pic though, notice the direction that take Minato's eyes when we see Jubito's kick(left direction). It's to show that while he was still not looking at Jubito(you can see the handseal), he noticed the kick just before coming from his left position(represented by the exclamation mark)

Again on the same pic, notice that his right hand is vertical(for forming the seal)

But on this pic, his right hand turned horizontal. This is to show Minato changed the position of his hand in order to protect himself against Jubito's kick

But because of the power of the kick, he was still pushed back

Speed in which they show him moving and then seemingly gone in the next instant. Has he shown this? Similar to the last scan...where nothing but a flash is left behind. Has he shown this? Just asking...of course I choose my words carefully and wouldn't disrespect you. :yayy:

....You are just downplaying Minato. I'm not sure why this is going on, considering the OP said he was done.

The fact he used Shunshin over the room right before Obito stabbed Naruto shows the speed of his Shunshin. It's not about how much he traversed. It's how fast it was compared to how close the Kunai was to Naruto...

You people need to realize that it WAS Obito's sole intention to trick Minato out of the room. Which is why he 'tossed' Naruto up in the air. Had he done the exact opposite and stabbed him right there in his arms, there is no way in hell Minato could have managed what he accomplished.

As for the thread, Minato is indeed pretty fast, but so are many others at base speed. Itachi, Ae, Bee, Obito, and possibly Sasuke. it's hard to say how well he would fare against them at pure base speed.

Minato is pretty fast without FTG. we just dont know his speed level. Databooks are not accurate enough
