Obito was a freaking child at that time. Minato was still killed in the end by a plan started by a child.

When ur a Ninja, ur age is no longer a factor...Look at Itachi and Kakashi for example. So ur argument is irrelevant. Secondly, Obito wasnt just some "Child"
He was an Uchiha, who had experienced war, escaped death's grasp, melded with Senju DNA, and we all know, Senju + Uchiha = Powerful hybrid. Killed an entire platoon of elite ninja alone that Kakashi couldnt defeat. His plan was actually Madara's plan. Defeating Obito isnt an easy task.
Minato deserves respect. Just cuz he dosent have an OP mountain buster, his instant teleportaion makes up for it, seeing how he can attack most people before they have time to react.

This logic applies to every single character in the manga or do you think we have seen every technique that dead ninja's like nagato, itachi, hiruzen, etc had. They obviously had more techniques when Hiruzen is called professor and showed us like 4 techniques, nagato was said to have mastered the elements and not once did he show any elemental techniques in his battles (one's he showed was training with jiraiya) and itachi when he was brought back showed a few other techniques, however not all were shown. Fact of the matter is we never got to see every technique of a character and we never will.

Anyway its true minato lacks the power that some of the ninja's that can change the landscapes command and other powerful techniques have, but that has never been minato's fighting style to begin with.

His fighting style from attack to defence is all stipulated around hiraishin and uzumaki fuinjutsu's.
It might not as flashy as the power's that we are seeing however it can still be effective. The key is skill, something that Minato is very good at. He will challenge these guys that command more fire power than him and he could come out with a win against some

EDIT: I do however strongly believe that this falter is what makes him a top 20 at best ninja rather than 1-15

The thing is that people find it hard to believe(or are just mad to think) that someone could defeat an entire platoon with speed alone, and because of that they create excuses to think that the enemy could miraculously follow. Minato doesn't need fire power. He is more like the type of ninja to use the enemy fire power against himself(like what he did to the bijuu ball for example), use his speed to catch the enemy off-guard, use simple tricks like contract seal, barrier or hiraishin to either stop a tailed beast control or protect himself or someone else, teleport attacks or avoid impossible attacks as well as surprising the enemy, use sealing techniques to seal even tailed beast(but again because people don't want to accept the fact that he can seal other easily, they ignore this power), etc

minato dodged A at his full speed v2 armor so he can easily defeat him if gets taged
as for flying opponents he just needs to throw the kunai upwards and he will appear there and will throw again a kunai at the enemy and tag him and rest is as everybody knows( this is just a theroy)
as for others v have only seen his rasengan and i guess minato must have other power to bcom hokage at such a young age
as for susanoo i think he can seal it but he will have a hard time and its 50% he wins 50% he losses coz besides ftg rasengan and sealing jutsu's v havent seen anything other but just using these he was considered one of the best and feared shinobi

i agree hes top ten,but he cant defeat people with strong defense powers..a stronger defence blocks a weaker attack common sense really

i rank him around 8 or 9,he cannot defeat sasuke or itachi.theres a few others not listed on the top ten who i think may beat him such as orochimaru..the only way to really beat non sick oro is to use a sealing jutsu (like reaper death seal) or genjutsu,which he cant block so shizz..it would be a really tough fight for minato but theres a chance he could win

minato won because obito was trying to finish the fight as quickly as possible.he tried to rush him and failed..minato got one rasengan off and i should add he healed from it quickly..had obito really been focused on the fight he would have used wood style and izanagi. those attacks would have certainly changed the battle

in this series, its not always about how destructive you jutsu is. some shinobi's like minato can be lethal without making a big BOOM lol, also minato handled a FULL kyuubi TBB very well as far as i remember and can do more than a rasengan. again a measure of a character's power is not always about how destructive his jutsu is (specially if they can't land a hit), and the proof to that is that he became hokage. now that should tell us that a REALLY strong character is a lot more than spamming one destructive jutsu, there is timing, strategy, the mind set (allows the character to handle any situation) and knowledge of jutsu (and sometimes analyzing and understanding an attack in the middle of the fight) all of these are examples of the aspects of a top class shinobi.

minato is a VERY dangerous shinobi, i mean he will take you with him to hell if he had too, so either way your DONE lol (just don't fight him)

@ uncle samOH PLEASE!! ur seriously underestimating Minato if ur saying he can't beat Sasuke.We haven't even seen his real power since he obtained the eternal mangekyou. or are you really sayin Sasuke could beat Minato even without it? Bear in mind that with his fight with Obito his wife was seriously injured and his new born son was in danger. You gotta give him credit for even keeping his wits about him let alone manage to land a hit. Had he been in his best condition he could totally wallop any shinobi
