Minato and Tobi are the only ones that could stand against Madara at this point. No other ninjas before or after could. Hashirama can't because Madara is fused with him or w.e. Tobi has his dimmensions to seal Madara away. Minato is a master at seals and Barriers for defense. Meteor would be a problem for Minato though.​

- Can spam CST
- Use Susanoo with no bodily harm
- Spam Amaterasu

Those are only some of the things he can do.

The only person capable of beating Madara now is Tobi, who was willing to challenge Madara and Kabuto combined. The only dead people who could beat Madara now... well only the Rikudou Sennin can do that.

Other than that, no-one we know of at the moment (bar Tobi and the Sage) even stands a chance against Madara. That includes the part 1 divine tiers such as Minato or Itachi.

I would argue in Minato's favor, but there are too many people in the base believing that Madara can actually defeat the Sage. :| Even if I make good arguments that help Hashirama or Minato, it will all go to waste.

It's very difficult for a novice sword fighter to win against a master sword fighter.

Rinnegan is the thing that equals it out.

Madara has only used a fraction of Hashiramas abilities.
