The five edo kages wanted Sasuke to be at their said to beat Madara squad instead of fighting against Sasuke and Madara.They believe Sasuke had the requirement to become a hokage and they believe with Sasuke at their side,they will have an advantage .
I not discrediting Naruto or causing drama but current Manga Minato said Naruto catching up to Sasuke but he did not Said Sasuke is catching up to Naruto.Minato View Sasuke as a very talented shinobi but he never look at his son who he never seen for years as talented or anything significant to a shinobi.
I strongly believe if Minato was alive and the uchiha clan was still massacre ,he will adopted Sasuke .Sasuke will be treated like his favourite and discard Naruto.This is similar to Kakashi favouring Sasuke over Naruto and discarded him to Jiraya

Wow you don't read the Manga do you? They never said anything about wanting Sasuke on their side or Madara side, all Hashirama said was he wanted to rid Sasuke of his hatred by answering his question so he does not become a new Madara bent up on revenge and power. Sasuke was the one who aid he'll fight to protect the Leaf and Orochimaru and Taka joined as well. They never stated that Sasuke had requirements to be Hokage, only remote similar thing was when Hiruzen said Itachi had reason as a kage at a young age by seeing pass his only clan and looking at the big picture which is all clans that the village consisted of.

Wrong again, last chapter he called Sasuke a skilled shinobi from knowing that Naruto and him should be analyzing Juubito's attacks and movement then in this chapter he only said Naruto is keeping up/ just as smart of a shinobi as Sasuke. This comment had nothing to do with power because everyone with a brain knows Naruto>Sasuke power wise as of now and Naruto entered the war right from training so wasn't even at full power.

If Minato was alive then what makes you think a massacre of the Uchihas would have happened? They only really risk the coup because Hiruzen was old in age but Minato as Hokage they stand no chance of winning so a more peaceful way would have happened. kushina and Sasuke mom's were friends so that also helps in my argument of a more peaceful solution and if Minato did take Sasuke in then Naruto would be raised by his dad meaning he would have trained Naruto and Naruto would be more strategic and analyzing than he currently is while Sasuke would also be trained but would be less bent on hatred because Minato and Jiraiya would teach him and Naruto their views of peace. Naruto would get FTG where as Sasuke wouldn't since Minato would still Favor his son more.
