and itachi can't fly so, yea tobirama's technique works here

I like how people attribute Itachi's win to genjutsu.. Tobi is a better genjutsu user with normal sharingan than Itachi and he didn't use genjutsu against Minato. Then there's the whole "Minato never has broken out of genjutsu".. well, we've never seen him in a genjutsu, so we wouldn't see him break out of one.

From what we've seen / heard about, Minato wins. Anyone who says different is just plain one sighted.

before itachi fanboys attack like Planet of the AApes read the thread first

itachi have a lot of techs and most of them are so fast that people can't dodge. but we found out that amastera was dodgable with the 3rd Raikage. maybe becuase we have not seen a ninja good at speed go agaisnt a uchiha yet beside raikage. . most of the susanoo moves can be dodged also like the bow and arrow , Minato should have more justus than the ones we have seen also. even his advance sealing techs will be helpful againt a sharigan user. with chakra their sharigan is useless.\

once minato tagged someone it's easy to attack. so imagine a barrage of rasengans one after another. I also think that he has fought sharigan users and knows their battle strategy which was probably why he bested tobi, besides him being stronger.

yes, i do understand that itachi has izanami but it wouldn't affect minato because he already found his meaning for life, which was why the 3rd choose him over orochimaru.

tsukuyomi is only good agaisnt people who haven't fought agaisnt sharigan users. yeah yeah, itachi can get you by lifting his finger but minato being a genuis would ccounter it.any of itachi fire style techs would be useless agaisnt speed.

I will admit, itachi v.s minato would be hard,. but agaisnt a person who is good at spamming ftg will win with high dif, (that's if he's caught in tsukuyomi.

Whilst FTG is indeed fast, it gets him close to Itachi for an attack. Once he is that close any sort of genjutsu and he's done for. He has no counter for genjutsu. Tsukuyomi and fight is over.

I hope blaze reads this as he's a great itachi thinker. But after watching kakashi chronicles I saw minatos marking move up the ninjas foot and then minato was behind him. If he can make his mark move n keep itachi busy until tag is on itachi minato wins regardless of sasano. Any thoughts on this?

Nope Itachi still wins. In Minatos mind he thinks he's doing some cool FTG tricks and rasengan. When in reality he's just standing there and Itachi already has a kunai to his throat.

That tech only works within a certain range and it isn't even necessary in a 1v1 scenario. xd

One on one Itachi would win. Itachi's main strength is his genjutsu. If Minato looks down to avoid Itachi's eyes, he gets caught in Itachi's finger genjutsu. In all of Itachi's fight shown this far, only people with doujutsu where either not put in his genjutsu or broke it on their own. People always bring up Minato's ftg against Itachi's Susanoo, but it isn't really needed. Think of a realistic situation that Minato isn't put in Itachi's genjutsu. You can't. That's the sad truth. Minato is awesome but he can't win ONE ON ONE against Itachi. Unless he sneak assassinates him without any confrontation.

The only exceptions are Kakashi and Kabuto. Minato, being Kakashi's master and a former Hokage, would have a better understanding on the workings of the Sharingan than an average Konoha shinobi. Granted, the Tsukiyomi WOULD most likely mess up Minato. That being said, for Itachi to get him in a genjutsu he would have to pinpoint Minato to be able to even do such a thing. People would argue that the Sharingan would be able to track his movements, however that is for REGULAR movements. Minato's FTG is beyond fast, since it's basically a Space Time Migration technique. The seals act as checkpoints for him to teleport too, which would be easy for Minato to scatter around the vicinity of the battlefield.

The only thing that Itachi would have the upper hand on, is Genjutsu. Other than that, Minato outclasses him by a long shot. Taijutsu would be a problem, if Minato wasn't able to basically teleport. It's already been shown that Minato can use seals to move attacks through space and time to another location, when he did it against the bijuu blast. This would also make Ninjutsu basically irrelevant, because if Itachi was even able to keep track, Minato obviously has the ability to form seals in an instant.

Don't get me wrong, I think Itachi is one of the smartest if not the most intelligent Shinobi in the narutoverse. However, Minato showed the same type of insight when Tobi and Kurama attacked the village , which would also make him a genius as well. It's pretty obvious to say that Minato would have been regarded on Hashirama's level as a Hokage if he didn't die. But, his insight allowed him to plan for the future, which displays the mind state of another brilliant mind.

Minato. With the limited knowledge on his arsenal we have we can still make a case for him. In addition we can give him the benefit of the doubt because he mastered the Uzumaki clan's sealing jutsu and he has an imperfect version of 'that jutsu'.

We know everything Itachi has and that's all we'll get. Minato still has more.

@ first bold Oro 5/5 intelligence kakashi 5/5 intelligence kabuto 5/5 intelligence deidara 4.5/5 intelligence. Genjutsu can be used on hokages and it has been like on yagura A and Hiruzen. Hiruzen was called the god of shinobi and the professor and he Got caught in the bringer of darkness genjutsu.

Hashi is a senju and the strongest senju in the series i highly doubt that minato would ever reach his lvl. Remember Uchiha and Senju/distant relative clans >then everyone else xd

i think it could go either way:flaw: you guys realize the yata mirror only deflects NATURE TRANSFORMATIONS this is off the wiki "The Yata Mirror was carried by Itachi's Susanoo in its left hand and is considered one of the three sacred treasures. It is said to be endowed with all nature transformations and as such changes its own characteristics depending on those of the attack it receives, making the technique ineffective." otherwise its just a regular susanoo shield but i believe if itachi can land tsukiyomi he might win though minato is the fastest so it all depends on who kishi says is stronger xd

Itachi has more influence in the plot and feats in his powers in the manga.
