When someone has the heart to kill his family in order to save the village and go being hated all his life and having to join a criminal organization to cover it up, he's a hero.

Jiraiya and Minato are the kind of heroes people want, Itachi is the kind of hero people need.

He let Tobi escape. I know there wasn't much he can do but Tobi did, in fact, escape. He then proceeded to take care of the 9-Tails by himself even though the whole village was behind him. At least he could've warned them of Tobi.

And Kushina didn't predict anything. It's what a mother would want for their kids. If it wasn't for Yamato, Kakashi, Itachi, etc. Naruto would be dead by now. It wasn't Minato and Kushina protecting him, it was actual living ninjas. Minato gave him the gift of being the 9-tail's host. They basically gave him power just as Itachi made Sasuke stronger through hatred.

matter fact tobi/madara escaped as the same thing i think with the shodaime but at the he will die with the yondaime's technique left to naruto (yondaile's legacy)

I think that makes them exactly the same...Minato could have killed people all the time and yet he didn't. He let Bee and A live when he could have killed them fairly easily.

Itachi killed his clan because he wanted to save people, and Minato killed when he was saving people. Otherwise neither of them were aggressive people.

I think they are almost exactly alike. Had you given Minato a sharingan and Itachi ST, then they would be pretty much exactly alike.

Like I said; people tend to look at what Itachi failed at and forget about everything he did right. Itachi might have not killed "Tobi" but Minato had a very good chance and if he had killed him at that moment, Naruto would not have to go through what he has, Uchiha might not have thought of the uprising and Itachi would not have been known as a mass murderer, Sasuke would still be in Leaf and there would never be this war.

We don't know what exactly went down after Itachi joined Akatsuki. We don't even know when Tobi came out of the shadows of Akatsuki; we know that he was considered a newbie in the Akatsuki by the time Shippuden started.

Fact is; neither Itachi nor Minato spilled the info about Madara. Itachi had his mission or some sort of deal made with Tobi and Minato wanted to stop the 9-tails right then because it was more important than Tobi.

Your post is not only in favour of Minato but also against Itachi. This is why I reminded you that Itachi is not the only one who experienced failure. This thread is comparing both of them, not putting one's failures against the other's.

No. Madara was KILLED vs. Shodaime. It was written in history. The history is not always accurate but do we even know if Tobi is Madara? We can only take his word for it.

He will die by Naruto. His is not entirely Yodaime's legacy. There are countless ninjas who played a role in helping Naruto achieve this peace. Itachi and Minato are two of the many. This is exactly what Itachi was mentioning in the recent manga.

Bee did have a knife pointed towards Minato but honestly I don't think he would have been able to hit from that position. First Minato is faster than him and secondly Bee would have had to stab backwards without looking and hope that Minato would be there. Minato had the upper hand and they all knew it, especially Minato.

I will always prefer minato and that's because he became an incredibly strong ninja without the use of a kekkei genkai, or a tailed beast. He relied on his skills and smarts as a ninja instead of a sharingan, byakugan, rinnengan, or a tailed beast and you can't' say the same for itachi, naruto, sasuke, madara, or nagato.

Minato is a boring character IMO,he lacks of personality.
