If you don't know the circumstances people grow up in, you can't really have an opinion on it. In the hood you are either a thug/gang banger or you're trying to get yourself out of the hood. There is no grey area. Unfortunately as a kid the choices really are limited to those two things. In school you're either some hood-rat, or you're studying hard and trying to rise above it all. Sadly, the kids who try to rise above are constantly put down by the other kids because they are applying themselves, and not doing hood things

I am a firm believer of the opinion that black people are black people's worst enemy. Even above the cops.

P.S.: Bankers are kind hearted thugs. Most CEO's and business officials. They rob you blind with your consent.

Darren Wilson was out of line. No american citizen in their right mind would try to reach into a armed cops car to take their gun. The entire story from Officer Wilson sounds wrong and rehearsed. And it is completely ignorant to automatically label Michael as a villain who deserved it when Michael isnt here to tell his side of the story. Just because he robbed a gas station before getting shot doesn't automatically mean that he deserved a bullet to the head.

Multiple young white girls steal from department stores, gas stations, and malls all the time. That doesnt automatically make them thugs and deserving of a bullet to the brain. The fact that the OP took the time to make a poll to label MB as a thug, without knowing nothing of his life prior to the hour before he was shot shows that he himself is biased and stereotypes black people. SMH

He still stole something. If he's man enough to steal something and push the cashier, he should had been man enough to not to resist arrest. Even though shooting is too far, I mean shoot him once in the leg than okay that's a little understandable, but 6 times is way too much. With that said I don't think the officer deserves jail time, but he should not be a cop again.

By shooting the leg I meant by a flesh wound. Cops are train about where to shoot at to avoid having the suspect die.

Further - I don't think anyone who ever says "shoot in the leg" has actually tried to shoot someone's leg... while they are running.

A lot of people don't truly grasp just how quickly a person can move. 30 feet is considered threatening range. Depending upon the person, between about 2 and 3 seconds is all you get for them to cover that 30 feet. We trained to draw and fire at least two rounds in that time frame.

This is why we train to shoot 'center mass.' Not only does this maximize the probability that you will hit the threat (target), it also is more in line with natural instinct and muscle-memory. You don't have time to sit there and be cute - like try to 'shoot the shoulder holding the weapon' or 'shoot the leg' - aim center-mass and keep pulling the trigger until the threat stops (or the slide locks to the rear, and if that happens while the threat is still present, you're outside of police work and need to get tactical really fast).

This is where we don't have a journalistic media, anymore.

They don't actually try to investigate what happened or what various policies are in place where and why. They just say: "Well, he has six bullet holes in him. Herp derp. Seems a little excessive."

When people are in that 'fight' mentality and their adrenaline is pumping - they won't even feel the impact of a bullet... Part of the neurological system's response to that sudden shock is to simply numb the pain - particularly when the 'fight or flight' has activated.

A flesh wound would only serve as a intimidation factor and would not actually stop anyone ... in fact it might enrage the assailant more. Also stop watching so much TV, you are grossly unaware of the reality.

Yes but him aiming for the head proves intention to kill if he shot brown in the leg and he died there wouldnt be much of a fuss because it would be clear to everyone that his main intention was to subdue not to kill.
