Taijutsu

Taijutsu or Body Arts are techniques that utilize just the Body and one's own Stamina to attack. These include all Martial Arts, Close Quarter Combat or even Freeform Taijutsu, where you merely describe your body's movements and attacks, as you incorporate them into your battle, without necessarily requiring a technique. Taijutsu, by norm, is not reliant on chakra, though chakra can be combined for enhanced and amplified effects. Taijutsu is also an umbrella term for all things related to the physical arts, which include not just Martial Arts and Body Combat, but also Weapon Manoeuvring, Kenjutsu/Sword Arts, etc

In this case, We'll be discussing a style of Taijutsu that is colloquially known as Strong Fist, and essentially is just utilizing your body as a weapon to Parry, Throw, Grapple, Strike, etc, with a a few other variants. This style serves as a great base for you to understand the range of actions you can perform through your Taijutsu, as well how you can later on develop your own style. As such, we have divided this skill in several categories:

  2. Throw & Grapple
  3. Strike
  4. Combo, Chakra Enhanced & Customization
  5. Character Bound
Parry & Deflect

First of all, you must understand that the strength behind your Taijutsu is your Body, and how you utilize it. While you could focus on training your muscles and attack straight on, a much smarter approach would be to understand where your opponent's power comes from and how to successfully divert it. While many of these techniques feature actual damage and striking motions, I'd like you to concentrate on the idea of parrying and blocking moves, as well as diverting your opponent or your opponent's away from you. A powerful punch can either be taken in, cushioned by your body while you overcome the damage, or, much simpler and less straining, it can be guided away from you, which takes significantly less strength.

Combining this with the idea of evasion, and you won't even need to touch your opponent, because your opponent will simply be missing you. This also means that it's always good to move around, instead of keeping your feet on the same place. Rotate, pivot, move to the left, move to the right. Even if you're using Ninjutsu or other skills, combine it with your movement. If anything, to keep your opponent guessing, especially when using bigger and more vision blocking techniques, remember to keep moving on your opponent's blind-spot, to control the match.

(Hirateuchi) Slap

Description: One of the simplest moves in Taijutsu, the user will simply hit the opponent with an open hand, slapping him. It can also be used for defensive purposes to slap incoming limbs or weapons.

Self explanatory, you use an open palm to deflect attacks. This can be used against weapons by striking the hand or arm to redirect the attack.​

(Asshō) - Pressure Palm

You deliver a strike to the opponent, aiming to knock them down. The strike is an open palm aiming downwards.​

(Shōshitsu) - Rising Knee

Description: The user will strike their opponent with an upwards thrust with their knee.

Similarly to the above, you deliver a strike to them but this time it's a rising knee that sends them higher in the air.​

(Shubi Kurēn) Defensive Crane

Description: A very advanced and complex defensive form, the Defensive Crane allows the user to divert the path of incoming attacks with the back of his hands, using circular and wide movements that expand outwards. He can intercept weapons or incoming taijutsu attacks. The technique is best used when facing an opposing Taijutsu move by diverting the incoming limb to one side and combo the defensive stance with an attack, exploiting the opening created.

This one is similar to Slap, but is more versatile because you can use it in wider movements as well as deal a higher damage with it. Picture the Karate Kid. "Wax on, wax off"​

(Tsumazuki Tātoru) Stumbling Turtle

Description: The user kicks the enemy in the knee, causing him to stumble in his movement and fall to the earth. If used with a chakra enhanced kick, the user can break the leg of the enemy with this.

A simple technique, this is ideal for causing a target to fall over. By kicking them in the knee, you cause them to stumble. As an added bonus, if you kick them with chakra enhanced strength or chakra enhanced strength, you can easily break the leg.​

(Appākatto) Uppercut

(Kōsa Hō) – Intersection method

Description: With this jutsu, the user is able to intercept and counter an oncoming taijutsu technique by raising the knee, and driving the elbow downwards at the same time. This catches the attacking limb between his two limbs, and drives the elbow down with great force, effectively shattering the bone.

This jutsu aims to block an attack and prevent it from landing by intercepting it in between the limbs. By using an elbow and knee, you drive them together swiftly to catch the limb in it and if done right, can break the limb.​

( Konoha Toppū ) - Leaf Gust

Description:
Using simple, yet effective movement when performing a counter attack or a freeform hand attack, the user will manage to spin rapidly and performs a strong rotative high kick to hit the opponent. The technique can be triggered in many ways and more than one kick can be delivered if the user manages to gather enough momentum.

This jutsu is pretty versatile in use; by spinning after blocking an attack, you're able to deliver a swift kick to the body. Should you spin enough and with enough force, you can deliver multiple strikes.​

(Rīfu Jōshō Saikuron) Leaf Rising Cyclone

Description: Spinning on his foot, the user strikes the enemy with a strong back-fist, followed by a kick with the alternating leg to force him away.

Self explanatory and easy to understand, you deliver a spinning strike to the body to cause injury and send them blasting away. You step forward and pivot on either foot and then deliver a spinning back fist that you follow up with the alternating leg to kick them.​

Throw & Grapple

Now that you understand the importance of keeping movement, evading, keeping aware of your and your opponent's blindspots, and parrying & deflecting your opponents attacks away from you, I'd like to talk to you about physically forcing your opponent to do what you need. While before you were studying your opponent's movements and reacting to them, even if you did place a couple of diverting and parrying motions to essentially guide your opponent away from you, now you'll take a more active approach.

After studying your opponent, you can start dominating him. If before you slapped his punches away from you in a merely defensive way, now you can guide your opponent in a way that you open up his defense to a counter attack. You actively guide your opponent in a way that allows you to better manipulate him. If your opponent is charging forward, you can can evade and push him away from you, or you can evade and trip him. In the first he will continue charging away, in the second he will charge into the ground, taking damage.

Secondly, you should also restrict your opponent. If you guide his left punch across his chest, due to his body position he'll be unable to turn and use his opposite arm to strike you, because he's tangled, which means his whole left side his open to you. If you grip his arm there, you can hold him down in a unfavourable position. If you kick your opponent into the air, he'll be unable to move or efficiently shift his body. If you combine the first situation with the second situation, you can easily guide an airborne opponent into the ground.

Guide your opponent in a manner that is efficient to you, Hold and restrict his movements in a position that is unfavourable to him, and then Throw him or Guide him into Harm or Damage, self inflicted or not.

Description: This technique is a good example of how even simple taijutsu can become a pre-eminently destructive, lethal technique. The attack is a simple rear spinning low kick, but a strong enough user can send a large adult flying as if they weighed nothing. The goal is to throw the enemy off balance, and deal damage to the lower half of their body.

A low spinning kick used to offset a foe's balance and cause them to spin away from the user.​

(Fōringu Hōyō) Falling Embrace

Description: The user runs at the enemy and tackles them, slamming them into the earth.

A simple tackle, you run forward and spear the opponent. Can also be done standing if close enough.​

(Konoha Shōfū) – Leaf Rising Wind

Description: This technique uses the entire body as a spring, by amassing power through taking a posture where the back of the body falls down. With this powerful taijutsu, the user kicks just above the head. Because the power of the kick from the ground is instantly converted into a blow, the enemy hit with this attack will be launched high into the sky.

You can use your body as a spring of sorts, leaning and falling backwards, causing the lower part of your body to rise with great force. Because gravity is always causing us to fall back to the earth, the heavier you are, the more effective this is for you.​

(Shōgekishō) - Upwards Attacking Palm

(Hayabusa Otoshi) - Peregrine Falcon Drop

Description: The user grabs a falling opponent by their ankles, wraps his legs around their waist, and drives them head first into the ground, similar to the Front Lotus.

A law of physics says that an object in motion stays in motion, meaning if something is moving, it continues moving until something causes it to stop moving. Inertia is a way of measuring how hard it is to change the momentum of an object, whether that's getting it to speed up or getting it to slow down. That depends on how much mass the object has. Big heavy things (things with a lot of mass) have more inertia than light things. You have to push a bus harder than a scooter to get it to move. A freefall would cause you to call to the earth quickly but combined with your opponent's mass, you both fall to the earth fairly faster. You grab the target by his legs, wrapping your arms around his ankles and wrapping your legs around his waist as you fall, drilling him into the earth.​

(Kage Buyō) - Shadow of the Dancing Leaf

Description: A technique where one follows the opponent, closely matching his or her body's movement, just like a leaf that dances in the air is followed by its shadow. The technique is usually preceded by a swift upper kick that will launch the target into the air. It is mainly used to position an opponent into a vulnerable aerial position. This move by itself is harmless, but it is usable as a stepping stone for a great many powerful techniques like Front Lotus and the Lion Combo. That said, it also has a rather high degree of difficulty.

You knock the target into the air by any means that you can. Then, launch yourself into the air behind him, acting as his shadow of sorts.​

(Shishi Rendan) - Lions Barrage

Description: A variant technique of the Front Lotus, It is an ultra-fast combo attack that requires an advanced physical condition and a certain knack for it. The opponent is first kicked into the air and shadowed with the Shadow of the Dancing Leaf. Upon inflicting a blow, one takes advantage of said opponent's counterattack to spin around and rise again for further assaults. Since the fall is increased in velocity with each blow, the damage when one is eventually struck to the ground is inconceivable. All variations end with the opponent being thrown to the ground and kicked in the chest.

You perform the Shadow of the Dancing Leaf, kicking the target into the air and then appearing behind him. Then, deal out a bombardment of kicks, using your momentum from striking to spin around and strike the other side quickly, doing so multiple times. After hitting the clone several times with several kicks, finish by dealing a powerful kick to the torso as he hits the earth, causing the damage to increase.​

( Konoha Kanransha ) - Leaf Ferris Wheel

Description: The user kicks the enemy into the air then kicks them again higher and jumps on their shoulders and spins the enemy into the ground.

You kick the foe in the air, then kick him once more, kicking him even higher into the air. Then jump into the air above him, channeling chakra to your feet to cause you to 'stick' to his shoulders and you land on them and spin furiously, spinning him into the earth. It's best to spin while applying pressure to their shoulders, causing their upper body to tilt over as you spin and fall, slamming into the earth, if that makes sense. Anko used this in one of the old games.​

(Daburufisuto) Double Fist

Description: The user punches the target with both fist into the chest with enough force to knock him down or send him flying backwards.

As the name suggestions, you strike the opponent with a double fist (both fists at one time).​

(Tomoenage) Monkey Flip

Description: The user grabs the enemy by his shirt and falls backwards, using his weight to produce all the momentum. The user will put one or both of his legs into the targets body, extending them in the correct moment, propelling the enemy backwards, upside down across the battle field.

Grabbing the opponent by their shirt, you lean back and throw them over your body, using your weight as momentum.​

(Konoha Daisenkō) - Leaf Great Flash

Description: Similar to Tsunade’s Sky leg but the user user charges at their opponent and unleashes a powerful lateral kick aiming at the head that will send their opponent flying away.

You charge chakra to your leg and rush at the foe, performing a lateral kick much like how Rock Lee did to Madara, and send them flying off.​

(Doroppu Kikku) - Drop Kick

Description: The user will jump into the air or be airbourne and delivers a powerful drop kick that sends the opponent flying.

By being high into the air, you stretch and extend your legs forcibly to deliver a powerful kick to the foe​

(Seishun Furu Pawā) Youth Full Power

The user begins with kicking the opponent into the air. Once the enemy is airborne, the user will quickly follow, positioning himself to deliver a kick to the opponent in the face or upper body, disorienting him and using the movement to position himself above. Once above, the user will finish with a powerful drop kick that will send the opponent back down to the ground, with such might that from a 3rd person perspective, only a flash of light is visible coming down, ending in a crater and a massive dust cloud.
Note: Can only be used by Taijutsu specialists or EIG users

After kicking the target into the sky, you swiftly move above them and end with a final kick back to the ground with such force that a bright light emanates from the kick as the target crashing into the ground.​

Strike

Finally, now that you understood your opponent and how to dominate them, we can safely revert to a more basic step, which is the Strike. They are usually straight forward physical blows that aim to damage your opponent in a blunt manner, with more or less finesse. It is up to you to understand where to hit and how to hit, though a strike can serve many functions. You can enhance yourself and train your strength, to create strikes that aren't easily parrying or taken. You can increase your speed and dexterity, to be able to parry and deflect, while punctuating your motions with quick strikes, to better destabilize your opponent. You can feint strikes, to keep your opponent guessing. You can throw many strikes to confuse your opponent and do indiscriminate damage, or guide your strikes to the vital and unprotected areas of the body, like the neck, joints, face, etc.

Forming the Tiger seal, you forcibly thrust your hand into...well, you get the picture. Added damage if done with a kunai or explosive tags though if done with a tag, do NOT use your fingers.​

(Men-Hirate) - Facepalm

Description: "Dear Lord, I can't stand it anymore!" There are so many absurdities and absolutely preposterous happenings in the Ninja World every day and all the frustration and sighing must go somewhere. Thus, as a result, the user of this jutsu slaps his forehead with one hand (probably with dominant for more effect), resulting in something like a "wake-up" call. The quick, yet effective pain will allow much of the grievances to go away as blood would rush quickly to the affected area and the user would be forced to focus upon it, forgetting all of his worries for just a slight moment. Of course, this can happen in a fraction of a second, or a long facepalm can do as well. And on a more battle-related note, most fights cause much anxiety and stress because we often struggle for our lives on a daily basis, so this would help relieve such psychological impacts and clear the user's mind in combat in order to make improved rational decisions.

Description: A taijutsu where one launches a succession of high kicks and low kicks. Firstly, the opponent's evasion margin is restrained upon seeing the high kick, thus augmenting the chances for the low kick to hit the mark connecting to the rib cage area. So originally the high kick is little more than a feint.

A feint jutsu used by faking a kick to the enemies upper body, be it actually swinging and intentionally missing or faking a kick completely. As the target goes low to defend, the user delivers the actual kick to the unguarded chest of the foe.​

(Kodzuku) Punch

Description: One of the simplest moves in Taijutsu, the user will simply use one of his hands to deliver a simple punch by clenching his fist and swinging his arm. The user is free to do variations of a basic frontal punch and the technique though simple, can be deadly for strong users.

Description: This technique is a series of kicking attacks, starting from a low kick and linking into a middle kick and high kick then finishing off with a heel drop. As the rotation speed picks up the user gains buoyancy, which they use to shift into gradually higher attacks.

You attack the foe with a combination of kicks, beginning with a low kick, chaining a mid-section kick and hi-kick as you spin around, ending with a heel drop as you use your momentum from the spin to raise your positioning as you attack, increasing your buoyancy.​

Description: The user swings low and performs a leg sweep. As he causes the enemy to fall, he jumps upwards and draws his legs in his chest, and then extends them swiftly, stomping him in the chest with great force.

You start by delivering a leg sweep and cause them to fall over. As they fall, you jump up and deliver a stomp to the chest with great force. Ideal for causing them to become winded and possibly pass out​

(Konoha Dairetsukū) – Leaf Great Violent Sky

Description: The user runs at the opponent, then kicking them into the stomach, following up with a spinning kick to the chest and punching multiple times to the upper body then follows up with a punch hitting the opponent into the sky. Once in the Air the user performs a spinning kick hitting the opponent into the ground where finally, they poses by raising their arms and bringing their legs together.

Run at the foe and kick him in the stomach, using your momentum to quickly follow up with a spinning kick to his chest several blows to the upper body with your fists, following with one strong blow that sends him airborne. Then, start a spinning kick, hitting the clone back into the earth.​

(Konoha Kaiganshō) - Leaf Rock Destroying Rise

Description: A taijutsu technique where the user smashes their elbow into their opponent using the other arm as support. It deals a powerful blow to the target and as the name suggests, is even strong enough to destroy rock formations.

You put your right fist into your left hand and, using your left hand for extra power and support, thrust your right elbow into the foe.​

(Konoha Gōriki Senpū ) - Leaf Strong Whirlwind

Description: A taijutsu using a combination of speed and power. The essence of this technique is concentrated in a spinning back kick, with such speed that makes it hard to follow the user's movement, smashing his enemy with overwhelming strength. This is a more Powerful leaf great whirlwind.

Hit the user with a powerful back spinning kick. Move very quickly and charge chakra to it, striking with great strength.​

(Toripuru Dainamikku Entorii) -Triple Dynamic Entry

(Konoha Shippūdan) - Leaf Hurricane Bullet

Description: The user performs a small combo where he starts by punching the enemy in the chest and then a punch to the gut, and then a powerful palm thrust, pushing him down to the earth.

A quick combination of strikes, you deliver a quick 3 piece to the target's chest first, then stomach and end with a palm thrust to force them downwards.​

(Rīfu Oshitsubusu Bōfū) Leaf Crushing Storm

Description: The user strikes the enemy with a powerful knee to the stomach, causing them to double over and he finishes with a strong elbow from the alternating arm to the back of the head. If successful, it will render the target unconscious for 2 turns.

One of the few Taijutsu that are canon and A rank, this is capable of delivering a blow that causes the target to faint for a while. Combo, Chakra Enhanced & Customization

Finally, and to show you the full reach of your Taijutsu, you can always combine your Taijutsu with chakra or other abilities. Chakra enhanced techniques allow you to achieve strength or speed that would take years to practice, while adding weaponry can achieve the same effect. After going through the basic notions of Taijutsu, you're free to specialize in it, or at least customize your own style. Taijutsu allows you to take a break from spending chakra, so it is always good for the ninja to also be proficient in Taijutsu, not just the other facets. A strong body leads to a strong mind.

Description:
This is an ultimate taijutsu technique created by the legendary taijutsu master Chen. It appears to be initiated by an upward spin kick at which point it quickly becomes like tornado. Forming into a dragon with long whiskers, it attacks the target aiming to swallow them, at which point they are cut by the razor sharp air currents inside the attack. After initiating the attack, the user appears to remain shielded within the base of the tornado as the outward surface of the dragon seems to be solid enough for a person to impact and rebound off of, making the only way to enter the technique once it has been initiated is by being swallowed. However, there is one distinct weakness to the technique. Since the Dragon God's real form (and what it basically is) is that of an ordinary tornado, though cosmetically shaped into a dragon, its attack power is based on rotation. If one enters the attack's centre (Dragon's Eye) while rotating at high speed, such as Lee's One-Man Front Lotus, it can be dispersed without inflicting damage. The technique, while seemingly similar to Wind Release, is actually just the users own physical power (through the use of the spinning kick) shaping the air into currents through movement. It is, however, enough to fight off elemental ninjutsu of the same rank and below.

One of the more advanced Taijutsu that is more like Ninjutsu, you use a powerful kick to shape the air currents around you into a strong dragon that is able to attack and cause massive damage on impact. Neutral to elemental jutsu, it can only be used by EIG users or Tai specialists.​

The intensely concentrated chakra that is gained leaks out from the backbone and becomes visible through friction with the shoulder blade, appearing like a butterfly wing. The user then concentrates the unique chakra into their fist, and then puts all their body weight behind the punch. The massive amount of chakra concentrated is enough to change the user's body structure, reducing their overwall mass making them slender.

This results in far more spikes than the previous version, as well as a shorter preparation time due to not needing to wrap kunai around his body.

Using the power of their bijuu to boost their physical abilities, the Jinchuriki is able to dash and move at incredible speeds. The speed at which one can move is relative to the transformation used. The basic Red Chakra Cloak doubles the users speed while the Incomplete Transformation triples his speed. The movement one can produce can be both intricate or simple, depending on the users intention.
Note: this version can only be used by Bijuus with Chakra Cloak or Incomplete Transformation active. Naruto can use this technique in both his 9 Tails Chakra mode as well as his Bijuu Mode.

With the damage done dependent on the amount of chakra used, it is also possible for a skilled shinobi to amass it in their fingertip. When the ground is hit it is pulverised into minute pieces by the excess shock in an area short range all around, which are then scattered like flower petals, giving rise to the name "Cherry Blossom Impact".

Instead of using Chakra enhanced strength just to increase their taijutsu the user can exert their chakra control through a weapon allowing them to increase the damage done. This allows the user to cut or smash through bone, earth, and even metal (following elemental strength and weaknesses) but because its used through a weapon the damage increase is not as much as if used to increase the users taijutsu. This technique follows the same principles as Chakra Enhanced Strength and so can be activated in the same timeframe (but only after Chakra Enhanced Strength is activated) as the afforementioned jutsu but this obviously still counts as an additional move.

Note: Can only be used by Tsunade or Sakura bios.
