Re: mera mera fruit

Luffy will eat it so he can roast his own meat when Sanji's not around. Oda can come up with some reason for Luffy's rubber body to be able to sustain two fruits.

Re: mera mera fruit

I can't see Luffy eating it and Momonosuke already has a fruit.

Zoro and Sanji aren't devil fruit users (just fang see it).

If anything, I think either one of Zoro's Swords (maybee that White one which if I remember right is one of his oldest ones), or Ussop's Kabuto.

Or, I think he may just keep it like his treasure. Then possibly st the end of the series he and his crew will meet a kid just like Luffy and he will eat it, and be like a next generation of Pirate!
Oh I haven't thought of that!

But for reasons that Cypher said I don't see that happening.

Re: mera mera fruit

its a logia fruit tho so weapons cant eat it as we have seen only zoans so far can be mixed with weapons because zoans have their own brain basically like they turn objects into animals

but if it were a logia or paramecia it would not be able to uses its power or it would always be using it as it would have no mind to make the decisions to use it or not

basically if zoros sword or usuopps kabuto were to take it how would they turn it on and off
Lol that's a good point....well for Zoro's sword it is possible that the blade can turn into fire. Considering that swordsmen usually have some sort of deep bond/relationship with a sword (for instance going so far as to name a sword) that sword/master bond may be a mechanism of activating or deactivating a blade.

I guess it would be a similar situation for Ussop's Kabuto, but it would make the string or something like fire....allowing him to use an automatic version of Firebird Star (leaving him more room for other Seeds)...but honestly I'd agree in that it doesn't work well here.

Anyways this is the only real way I feel the Fruit will be added to the crew...the non DF users just don't fit as DF users...and Luffy, the only one who can probably take another fruit, doesn't feel like a logia person personality wise....guess that's just my opinion though.

Re: mera mera fruit

iT WOULDN'T BE POSSIBLE FOR LUFFY TO EAT IT!
HE WOLULD DIE...........ONLY BB HAS 2 DEVIL FRUITS.........1 EATEN AND THE OTHER STOLEN BY HIS DEVIL FRUITS ABILITY ( to steal other DF or nullify them)
also zoro eating it naaaaah! maybe his sword to be weaponised with it like Mihawks sword!!!!!!
sanji eating it wouldn't be a bad idea! it soots him!!!!

Yeah it is practically unlikely, but an interesting concept.

I'd say even more than the likelihood of it being given to a sword is Zoro himself.

He'd rather be the best swordsman because he has the best sword as opposed to having a convieniently powerful sword!

Re: mera mera fruit

I hope Luffy eats it like someone said already you can only take the rubber abilities so far and don't say that's what red hawk is for since I'd be disappointed if that was the only new move he had learnt.

Also for those saying he can't eat it due to the fact he'll die, open your mind will you there's a reason Teach was able to do it and what do we know Luffy and Teach have in common...the D in their names and seeing as we have know genuine idea what it stands for yet don't jump to conclusions that Luffy can't eat another fruit.

Also I think it'd be interesting to see Luffy learn to cope with new powers and let's be honest he needs some sort of power up to fight the Yonko and Admirals.

I've been 50/50 on this one....While I think him getting some form of a powerup is good, I just don't like Luffy comming to rely on a power besides his own devil fruit. I think the fact that he wins fights as a Paramecium Rubber Man against outclassing Logia is just awesome, and it would be lost when he's a Logia Rubber Man. And I'd also have to say it will look kind of sad when he has a tough fight against people (other than Yonkou) while he has both of them :/.

I think Luffy comming up with more creative ways to use his Gomu-Gomu no mi is far better than becomming a complete Logia Scrub and having to learn how it operates :/.

IDK...like I said I'm split almost 50/50. I'd like for him not to get it, but I'm not going to go be upset if he does...because honestly he'd only get more epic.

I also found Red Hawk as more of a tribute to Ace than taking his devil fruit in and of itself. Red Hawk would basically become useless were he to get the Merra-Merra no Mi. I can even see Luffy using a full body CoA to have a far more menacing Mode Ace or Mode Red Hawk.

Re: mera mera fruit

People also need to realize the Straw Hats have yet to come against a group of enemies that proved to be truly hard to beat, so its very unlikely we have even begun to see what the Staw Hats can currently do. First Arc was Fishman Island, and Luffy didnt even sweet when fighting Hody. Yes he was injured, but imo Luffy was just testing his abilities. First off, there were under water when he used some of his strongest attacks. Second, remember when Luffy was badly bitten by Luffy. Luffy commented that his haki shield was not strong enough to block attacks like that, which IMO means he could of dodged it (or that being underwater weakened him too much).

Also, look at how easy he handled the Punk Hazard arc villain Ceaser, besides that ONE time he under estimated his power and passed out from his ability, he quickly overcame the ability and kicked his butt very quickly.

I think once we start seeing flash backs to the Straw Hats training, reflecting on the difficulties they went through, we will truly start to be hitting an issue with people strengths.

TLDR: The person who is the weakest at the moment and have the little to contribute will get the fruit, and I think that Usopp.

Yeah they have faced an enemy truly hard to beat, they got crushed by Kuzan. And no to Usopp, Oda has already stated Usopp will be forever the weakest member. Him gaining the Mera Mera fruit would give him a massive power boost and push him up the ranks.

If Luffy gets the fruit he should just keep it in a trophy room or something similar >_>

Well I think he or she is talking more about the Post Time Skip where they have yet to face a challenge (Fishmen Island, Punk Hazard).

Anyways I think having it locked away is honestly the best choice. It would be his grand treasure like his hat is. It coul possibly be used to set up a scenario similar to the start of the series as far as some little kid eating it out of his treasure box XD!

Lol! The other day I had this really cheesy day dream where you have Luffy and all of the other Straw Hats on some small town island where basically a parallel with Shanks happens between some pirates and Luffy....and the new kid had already eaten the fruit and what not. Then, instead of losing an ARM or somethin, Luffy's hat gets destroyed at the cost of saving the kid.

Then he'd probably run into someone else asking what happened to it and he'd say, "I bet it on the future!"

Would be a cheesy way to symbolize how Roger's way is being passed down...but it isn't just some hat, but the hearts those who wore it XD!
