Once you're caught in her Water Dragon or Water Pillar, it's pretty much over. When she captured Madara he literally became her rag doll. Unfortunately for Sakura, she doesn't have Susano'o to protect herself from Mei's Youton barrage or Futton concentrated, acidic spit .
Are you implying Mei can keep Sakura trapped in a suiton jutsu like she did to edo Madara while spitting acid or lava at Sakura? That's impossible as she can only use one jutsu at a time. I may be misunderstanding what you're trying to imply so please explain yourself further.

I'm not implying, I'm just stating facts. Mei showed that she can control her Water Dragons' trajectory using her hands, so when Sakura is caught in it, which will happen because Sakura cannot avoid Water Pillar -> Water Dragon combo, Mei can simply send her straight into her Futton concentrated spit, which doesn't require hand seals OR simply stop using maintaining her Water Dragon when Sakura will be on the way (because the momentum will still push her towards Mei) and end this farse with Youton globes.
Sakura wins mid-high diff. Mei can't stop Sakura's approach and most of her Ninjutsu can be tanked due to Byakugo. The only thing that'd probably be dangerous to take head on is her Lava, but dodging it shouldn't be an issue. Sakura's hits would disperse any kind of mist she set up also.
I think Mei can attempt to stop Sakura's approach with her various suiton attacks. Sure they may not do much but they could send Sakura flying away and knock her off her feet allowing Mei to dowse her with youton without Sakura being able to dodge.

You can see her move her hand in the same manner as Gaara when he control his sand, when she launched her attack on Madara. How else do you think she controls the trajectory?

I thought she did it mentally as long as she's in contact with her suiton while she's spitting it out. Gaara also controls his sand mentally although sometimes makes movements.

Well, I also am not 100% sure, because the fight was zoomed out pretty much the whole time, but it changes nothing when it comes to the strategy I mentioned. Do you think Sakura has any way of getting around it?

Well I think Sakura's punch can obliterate Mei's water dragon, though the water will still be all around her which Mei can manipulate again and launch her into the air where she can't evade a follow up yoton.

I never said the water dragon would be deflected. I said it would splash away and obviously physical strikes cause water to splash. Do you think Mei can beat Sakura?

I thought you meant when she was within the Dragon, and also I don't see her splashing the entire thing. It would just create a hole that could be filled, force goes through fluids. I think she CAN beat her its more specific than Sakura avoiding and tanking her attacks tho.

Sakura punching the water dragon would cause it to rupture just like the ground she punched. It's not going to be a mere hole the size of Sakura's fist.

Punches can't do anything against Suiton, because of water's 'structure'. Zexion is right. Not to mention that Sakura doesn't even have base strength that Tsunade has and she relies only on releasing chakra on impact to do things. If there is no impact, there is no CES. But it's not like it changes anthing.

How so? Her CES doesn't matter here lol you can't compare the ground to water when they're connected differently. Her CES shouldn't act the same, thats like saying she can empty small bodies of water by punching the surface.

Of course they can. If I punch some water, it is going to displace the water and cause it to splash. Sakura's punch is strong enough to splash the water dragon completely. Why will there be no impact when fist collides with water? It matters not because Sakura doesn't release chakra, it simply enhances her physical power like Tsunade.

She wouldn't empty them completely because a lot of the water will simply fall back down due to gravity but for the moment she strikes, the lake will cease to be. Water is much more easily to displace than rock so them being connected differently is actually a point that works against you.

I'm pretty sure it was explained somewhere in manga that CES works in a way that you store decent amount of chakra in one point of your fist and release it quickly and precisely during the impact.
And going by your logic, Sakura should create shockwaves while waving her arm, because air is just as much of a fluid as water is. But we saw in many cases that it doesn't happen. Her fist will simply punch a hole in water dragon, but it will be immediately replaces with more water.
Also, movements while in water are much more restricted than in normal conditions thanks to water resistance.
ALSO, you cannot punch the surface of water if you are inside of water globe. At very best she could create some internal fluctuations, but it's useless because there's enough water to compensate the displacement.

I thought so too but then KidGamer proved me wrong. Neither the manga nor the databook said that chakra is released from the fist upon impact. It simply enhances ones natural strength via the usage of chakra. If you want the proof I'll link it to you.

Water has much more in common with rock than it does gas. Also Sakura not being shown creating a shock wave while waving her arm doesn't mean that its not theoretically possible considering the 3rd Raikage did just that. The water dragon is going to feel the impact everywhere, not just at the point of contact much like Sakura punching the ground.

I'm talking about punching the water dragon while she's still outside of the water. Of course once she gets trapped, the most she can do is flail her limbs.

While I'm still against saying that Sakura can do any major 'damage' to Water Dragons with her punches, this situation most likely wouldn't even happen because cannot dodge giantic water pillar erupting from beneath the ground and leaving her open to getting swallowed by Water Dragon.
CES-Chakra ENHANCED Strength. Lightening her makes her punches weak just like they did to Ay's. As shown by Sakura's usage of said technique the more momentum behind her punch=more power, meaning that the normal workings of a punch and how it deals damage still apply here. [

Konoha Thousand Leaves Collection #24
It would seem Tsunade's "outrageous strength" completely ignores the laws of nature!! The challenge to common sense that is her power is due in no small part to her artful chakra control and fine-tuning. To give things a name, by instantly collecting chakra into her fist and fingers, she obtains a power of destruction bodily strength alone cannot achieve.

-Here's to a painful and bitter end! Such is Tsunade-hime's insane, "Legendary", power!!
Picture comments
-One finger, and Naruto cannot close in on her. And she can handle Gamabunta's huge dosu** with absurd ease...?!
-The kind of might that opens craters into the ground in one blow!!
That's also why messing with her muscles let him disable her super strength, because it's not just chakra creating that power. It's chakra enhancing her natural strength. Also:
All that scan states is that chakra is gathered in the fist, not that chakra is gathered and then released to create an explosion type effect. So lightened Sakura would have weak punches.

When Mei uses water pillar, Sakura will be launched into the air and the water will be beneath her. Though on second thought, when Mei forms the water dragon right beneath her, its mouth will be wide open so Sakura can't punch it before getting trapped inside. After that, Sakura becomes her play thing.
