Well she and the other kages used the rest of their chakra in their combo attack thinking that it was the end...However, Madara used his trump card the Perfect Susano to finish the job. Mei clearly sees that there is no way that they can win especially since they have little chakra left.
Now every other kage besides her has been "changed" by naruto and they know that they would never give up for naruto. That said Mei doesnt know how important as a person naruto is to the ninja world which is why she has given up so easily.

Well what do you mean by overestimated? What level do you think she's at? I agree that people shouldn't use the Kage title to justify her winning matches (or at least, most matches).
As for her actual move set, I wouldn't say it's that bad. She has some water style tricks up her sleeve, evening having the hidden mist jutsu in her arsenal (a strategically deadly jutsu). Plus have you seen the size of her water offenses? She can use them in succession and they easily dwarf a human being. She's been seen using her water style as both a weapon and a defense as well.
Her lava I agree isn't so great by itself based on what's shown about it. However that's to be expected if she's not using it strategically. I'd say that it's more of a way to push the opponent back or keep them on the defensive (it's not quick but she's been shown to use her lava in succession too).
As for acidic release, I doubt the mist is the only jutsu that the KG possesses. Still, the mist shouldn't be undermined. It basically eats away at the opponent and forces them to either build up a defense or end it quickly. Imagine somebody breathing that stuff.. it would attack them from the inside out.

In her fight with madara the raikage attack hadn't done damage to to his susanoo without the tschuikage help but as were mei was able to melt way some of his defense. Madara said he was impressed with the lava realease and he shouldn't get hit with a technique of that level. The Jounin that was in that spot was trembling and scared
Look how far of a distance every one was and they were covered by here hidden mist jutsu the only reason she hadn't use boil release on the spot was because it would have hurt everybody on her side as well.,
Now look how many ninja's it took to counter madara fire attack and as were mei can counter and over power his fire attacks by her self like she already did.
Even naruto Super giant rasengan couldn't but a scratch on on just the rib cage of susanoo and mei level release did
Plus name how many ninjas can take a hit like this worn out tired out and still get up.
Your saying your dissappointed in here because she couldn't stop the black zetsu like come on kyuubi mode naruto punched the hell out of kisame and the man couldn't take it. Kyuubi mode naruto was able to drop the 2nd tschikage with the help of other kages but still got drop and hurt by black zetsu come on now. You passed her time but getting healed and getting saved by gaara come on her offense is 2nd to best wasn't none of the other kages putting a dent except for her oonoki , tsunade all the other kages have good defense Raikage lightning armor, Gaara sand defence, Oonoki rock golem and long range flying distance, tsunade regenration able what defence does mei have to go up against 5 susanoo's???
Even the raikage was like damn tooking down by a mere genjutsu :rofl: and the sad part was he has a good denfence and he was tooking down seconds after her :sy: gaara was like damn at his rate were going to die the only one giving a hell of a fight is oonoki because he experience look how many other ninja's seen the power of madara and ran off. Like lets be real put alot of other place they be stuck also

A is definiterly the weakest. He has 1 arm, Gaara's sand is fast enough and strong enough to stop him, Tsunade is stronger, and Mei/Ohnoki have way more powerful jutsu.
