The linked rinnegan might explain it, but was madara even concious when tobi talked with kabuto? And in anycase, kabuto showed him the wrong seals.

Its possible but I don't think Kabuto was completely honest with Tobi about how EDO worked so I do not know if Madara would have learned enough from him to know how to break EDO.

I think it is far more likely he learned about it from the 2nd Hokage while they were both still alive.

Nope, madara was not even summoned at the time and I think kabuto gave tobi the wrong seals to release edo tensei.
