[Discussion] Mastering gear 4th

Ok so throughout the series luffy has been mastering his gears at first gear second made him extremely tired now he does it with ease gear third made him shirnk to a midget size now that no longer happens so what im saying is if luffy effectively ends gear 4ths time limit how OP is he at that point i dont see many characters standing up from 2 godsled guns period and if luffy gets an even better finisher after mastering gear 4th which he almost always does then i see him yonoko level at that point so what do you guys think? How strong is luffy if he ends gear 4ths time limit and can use it as he pleases

Not underestimating its potential a bit? Luffy always gets better with the gears and this was its first showing and doflamingo was getting raped by gear 4th luffy with unlimited g4 beats doflamingo rather easily if we go by what was shown

Unilimtied G4 Luffy isn't Yonko tier, not even close. He would be DD tier.

This, Doflamingo was able to avoid a good amount of contact with G4 Luffy and figured out a
major weakness(parts coated in haki are no longer rubbery, making them prone to blunt attacks).
Knowing this, if G4 Luffy wasn't completely stomping Doflamingo who's shit scared of Kaido, I doubt
Luffy could do much.

That aside, it uses a lot of haki, so I doubt it's as simple as just mastering the gear, but a huge
obstacle with his haki as well.

Nope, while in G4 he struggled to put down DD who's organs were being held together by string. If he gets better with the G4 he'd probably still be DD tier, he doesn't have what it takes to be above the currently. At best he would be above DD and that's a reach.

To me it looked like doffy couldn't keep up with g4 thats how i saw it at least he was basically running and on the defensive while luffy hit him with a bunch of new techs and even would have finished him alot sooner if the first g4 didnt go out right before the final hit he even states all he needed was one more and if that was a godsled gun he was right doffy at that point was barely conscious

It's actually strongly indicated that, even then, a lot of the damage done by the Gear 4 assault came from undoing the stitching. Really makes you wonder how well Gear 4 would have done against Doffy if he was truly at 100%.

I just replied to someone else with a similar response and i dont see a struggle really with the first g4 use he literally hit him with new techs smashed him into a wall stated he needed one more hit then poof g4 gone so if it was limitless at this point g4 would have looked more impressive imo

Luffy did need to dodge a lot of the Awakened techniques. The time lapse indicates that Doffy kept him at bay for 20 minutes before Luffy just smashed through the strings.

It's actually strongly indicated that, even then, a lot of the damage done by the Gear 4 assault came from undoing the stitching. Really makes you wonder how well Gear 4 would have done against Doffy if he was truly at 100%.

Meh doffy still never looked to be winning against g4 by any stretch he countered once or twice but got hit in most cases and he just looked inferior to me idk luffy was honestly more impressive then people give him credit

Doffy reacted to multiple attacks from G4 even while weakened and tagged Luffy while in G4. While Luffy even points out prior to the G4 release that DD should of been danged up by Law's attack. If Luffy went for the Godlsed first he still probably wouldn't of put DD down he took a bunch of hit prior ad was able to still move about an kill fodder while Luffy was recovering.

True but again this is gear 4ths first display im almost certain its going to get better immediately after this plus doffy may have kept him at bay and forced him to dodge but the battle wen luffy was in g4 never was in doffys favor keeping someone at bay doesn't make me stronger then the person

Probably would of lost, it was made apparent taking down DD was a group effort by Luffy and Law I'd say they'd push him to borderline high dif.

Yeah law did do some of the work for luffy but it doesn't take away that the battle didn't look to be in doffys favor at almost any point while luffy was in g4 yes he kept him at bay and yes he tagged him once or twice but if you do that to me but im only a hit from knocking you unconscious and we are at the same level? Im not sure
