Masquerade Ball

The little girl adjusts her cat-like mask and starts to fearlessly walk down the dark hallway. As she walks, she comes across a few portraits, one being the golden woman. She stops in front of that one and just stares at it curiously. "Who is she?" she asks herself.

The woman walks into a corridor to conceal herself from the girl, holding up her mask. Slowly, her topaz wings begin to glow, but she knows if she is seen, this whole ball will be a mess.

"As long as she doesn't get too far....maybe I can find those guards without worrying about that girl." she thinks to herself, her wings flaring for a few seconds before simmering back to the tattoo they resembled on her back.

The girl reaches to touch the picture and gets sucked inside. She comes out into a dark room. "Where am I?" She walks around, feeling the walls. When she feels something that feels like a flashlight, she flips it on. It looks like she's in an ancient bedroom. "This place just gets weirder and weirder." Then a smile comes across her face. "...But I like it."

"Looks like I won't be finding those people today. I have to stop her." the golden woman unleashes her wings. It's not like the girl will be as surprised to see them as she will be when she sees what's inside that room. Besides, maybe this little peeping tom could help her. What would've been the purpose of this ball in the first place?

Wearing a red tuxedo, trailing a crimson cape, a mysterious man walks into the ballroom, his golden mask glinting in the light. He scans the room and crosses his arms. People are slowly dance, some synchronized, some not. He sighs at the conformity, and walks over to the tables, dreading the fact that formality dictates that he be there.

A man, wearing a white tuxedo/dress shirt, teal vest/tie, and black slacks/white shoes, walks in.wearing a simple, solid colored mask, he takes in the scenery and vibe, and proceeds to the bar to order a drink.

She continues sipping her champagne, she notices two more people enter. she repeats to herself why am i here again

Meanwhile, the golden woman lurks into the portrait she had seen the girl go in, and enters the bedroom.

"I hope she didn't think this was the room I intended for them to recuperate here...otherwise, the others will come in too.

And we don't want that..."

He sees a woman drinking champagne. He nods his head in her direction and goes to get his own glass.

She continues sipping her drink, she really did look like didnt want to be present.

He starts mingling with some of the other guests while sipping his drink.

The man in red walks over to the mysterious woman drinking champagne and sits beside her. He sighs and raises his glass. "how about, we toast. To this boringness we call a party, eh?"

"besides the free drinks and pleasant company? Hmm... Maybe the empty rooms they have upstairs just waiting to be defiled." he laughs and sips from his glass.

She raises an eyebrow at the stranger "If the latter is your main purpose as to why you're talking to me, unfortunately I have to decline, however you're in luck this place is flooded with women who'd like to get their hands on a... " She stands up and traces a finger underneath his chin playfully "...man such as yourself"

He grabs her hand and stands. "oh please, a man like me cannot be satisfied by a regular woman." he gently pulls her onto the dance floor. He looks at her with a cocky smile. "let's see if we can make this fun for you, okay? These dances are more for the women, to show off their beauty. Let's show it off."

The young girl walks around curiously, trying to identify the owner of this room. "With all this floral stuff, it's most likely a girl...."

He grabs her hand and stands. "oh please, a man like me cannot be satisfied by a regular woman." he gently pulls her onto the dance floor. He looks at her with a cocky smile. "let's see if we can make this fun for you, okay? These dances are more for the women, to show off their beauty. Let's show it off."

She stops mid way before they get to the dancefloor as someone was calling her "Unfortunately, I'm not much of a dancer... Nice talking to you" She slips something on his jacket before they parted.

...and it was beeping.

He finds a small group of partygoers and has a good time, exchanging stories and having drinks.

"well, I guess I will just have to wait." he watches her walk away, a little disappointed, not noticing the beeping.
