Who do you guys think has released the better movies. I know Nolan's films will bring a lot of hype DC's way but honestly He only had one good Batman movie and that was the one with The Joker.
So for me it goes as comic adaptations Marvel hands down.
Man of Steel and Nolan's 3rd Batman movie were just allowed too much "creative liberty" for me. I don't care what you try to sell me THAT WASN'T BANE. AND SUPERMAN DOESN'T KILL DAMMIT. ok now that that's outta my system.
As stand alone movies DC
Nolan's Batman movies were good movies albeit bad Batman stories. Plus they have the Tim Burton Batman and Man of Steel was visually great. Green Lantern was also visually well done just a cheesy script.
Marvel has only had a few "great" movies visually imo Spiderman 2 Ironman and Xmen First Class.
Best Comic Movie
The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger solidified that movie as an all time classic. Punisher Warzone is good too and probably my favorite Marvel movie and I'm very interested in seeing Xmen Days of future past.
Animated films DC hands down
Dark Knight Returns/Under the Red hood/Doom/Flashpoint Paradox all amazing, better than most of the live action as far as writing goes. Marvel had Dr. Strange and Hulk vs(which I'm partial to due to Deadpool) but aside from that not too many to write home about. DC has the animated films on lock.
Comic movies I hope they make some time soon
I saw a thing saying a Spiderman movie couldn't have been made right until the 2000's and I agree, another movie that couldn't have been done properly until now is The Flash. It's about time Flash got some mainstream love(he's one of the only new 52 who doesn't have a collected trade in most comic stores in the area) Also Green Lantern could only have been done w/ todays CGI and a better GL film needs to happen.
Iron Fist would/could be incredible. As well as Dr. Strange(This movie needs to happen) And can we see Carnage in a SpiderMan movie sometime please.
I realize the studios want to play it safe with well known comics but with the success of previous films just advertise it as DC or Marvel and give some of the lesser known names a shot at the limelight and I bet they're fanbase will take off.
Oh yea I couldn't call myself a real fan if I didn't say before leaving, GIVE ME MY DEADPOOL MOVIE. and if Ryan won't clear his schedule to shoot it then forget him. Plenty of great actors out there.
