I don't know if you notice but look at when Itachi first activated his MS, and compare it to the visual difference of his dying MS when he fought Sasuke.

i think that the blindness refers to the user and not to the eye..

I believe the light leaves the eye, it renders it useless.

Otherwise madara could have given his brother his eyes.

yeah when he was dying his mangekyo was like fading or dissapearing i dont know what of those two are rigth

i dont think the user wont be able to use it, just not use it accurately because he is blind. Chakra is a power inside, being blind, for the uchiha, comes from the over use to the eye, but they dont loose their chakra right. So if they go blind and try to use it, they will have to use their hearing to accurately attack with their sharingan. no?

Yes, you have to transplant a family members MS, out sure about a sharingan being used after Izangi though, I think the eye sacrificed for that juitsu is forever sealed in darkness.
