I'm assuming this would be by the amount earnt over the course of their careers. Considering DBZ is still popular to this day and is still going strong with the new movie, it's not surprising he's earnt so much. But really, is it worth it? From what I know of mangaka, they only get three hours of free time a week, that's not including sleeping, eating or anything so the majority of their time is put into the manga they make. And when it ends, they're basically nothing.

this, being a mangaka is probably one of the worst job in the world, unless you're enjoying it........

How old is this list? Oda makes 20 million $ a year just from selling the tonkabon volumes. If you count his share from the merchandise, games, anime, movies etc he probably makes around 30 or more million a year. He definitely makes much more money than any other mangaka.
