Pokemon (early seasons), Megaman, and maybe Yugioh. I think Yugioh GX for sure.

Some people don't consider Avatar an anime, but I'd highly suggest Avatar. Also, not anime but Nick's Turtles is fantastic and really suited for people of all ages.

One Piece is definitely not for children.

OT: Pokemon.

I'm just telling you what I read on the news , so don't start .....then again it was talking about Japanese kids , they see things different .

OT: Just give her some of the old classics & let her make the choice .

K is a shounen but I can see it being for girls too.
Most likely because there are a ton of good looking men and slightly homosexual relationships.

Oh yeah animation and sountrack top-notch.

Yeah there was a lot of homosexual undertones haha. I wouldn't have been surprised if some dudes kissed. But it was beautiful animation and the soundtrack was superb. Plus it had a good, emotional ending

Yeah nah, this wasn't a freakin' "OH MY GOD HOW DARE YOU SAY SOMETHING BAD ABOUT OP", I was just saying, there are parts in it that aren't suitable for children at all.

It's difficult, when I was ten I was watching Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris films...it depends on her personality, anime's like Naruto or Bleach may be fine for her, but if she is a bit sensitive then I would start with shoujo like fruits basket and dragon ball.

Not necessarily a manga, but I think the anime movies from Studio Ghibli (minus that depressing Grave of the Fireflies and Paprika) are a good start. Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Castle in the Sky, etc.

I don't think 10 year olds mind violence that much.

Yea, i loved action films and martial arts when I was ten, to be honest the more gruesome and gross something is, the more kids tend to like it, but not all kids are like that, particularly girls, my niece hated any violence, if she is the Bratz dolls, pink and glitter type, she will not like violence either , that's what I mean ^^

Wow.... Well I got into anime because of Dragon Ball Z and that I watched that when I was 9 or 10.... And before that I watched scarier films that had violence. You really should treat your sister like a baby with anime. I mean, if she thinks it's scary then she obviously won't watch it. You should let her be able to choose... Unless she's stupid and will like imitate actions from the anime... But if you insist... I think you should let her watch shojo I guess... Probably the slice of life ones too.
