Yes, then we get a 3 week break. That's how it's always been.
I don't think Japans have Christmas, so they don't necessarily have a reason to break. Besides, they have many diverse holidays throughout the year, or festivals whatever for breaks.
I wasn't referring to not taking a break if that's how they always do, I meant that it's senseless to take a break if it were only for holidays. But since there's another reason, and not holidays which they don't have anyway I believe, it's alright.It doesn't matter. There is no Naruto chapter in the last week of December, nor in the 2nd week of January due to recurring Double Issues (#04-05, which was issued last week, and #06-07, which will be issued in the first week of January).
WSJ takes these two breaks every year (End of Year & New Year breaks you could call it) as well as two other breaks for Japanese-related holidays. You can reason as much as you want about how they have no reason to take a break at this time of year, but the fact is: they take these breaks every year and no amount of reasoning you do can change that.
