Manga-Canon Snobs Irritate Me

People tend to take the "Manga-only" thing to an extreme and use it only when it favors them.

From my experience the anime only posters are far more guilty of this then the manga only posters.

Hinata has excellent chakra control and in the anime, she is shown to be a pretty good medic, on par with Ino and maybe Sakura. Why can't we say Hinata knows or is good at medical ninjutsu due to her good chakra control?

All Hyuugas are skilled at Chakra control. Otherwise, they'd **** up using their trademark Gentle Fist. Having said that, she isn't Good at Medical Ninjutsu but she could very well be given her expertise in Chakra control. Same goes for all Hyuugas.

Kishimoto said Kakashi knows over 1000 jutsus and was able to copy many of them due to his Sharingan. The anime writers followed that logic and gave Kakashi a technique. It's directly related to what Kishimoto said, because if we ask him, I'm pretty sure he'll let Kakashi learn fire.

Yeah and how many jutsus have we seen? Like 10-20 max. We can only talk about what he has currently done. That's the logic you have to use. Kakashi has only done Water, earth, and lightning, and I'm pretty sure he would have used fire in the manga if he could...

when dicussing the anime you should be able to bring up fillers because they are a part of the anime but if you are talking aboput the manga of course you cant bring it up for it never happened you dig?

This much I agree. As long as it's logical there shouldn't be a problem.



BUT the problem with this is, what "makes sense" is relative. It can be tweaked by anyone to what they want it to mean. That's why people strictly reject any non-manga material. Because if you don't draw the line somewhere then people are going to use nothing but assumptions.

What's "logical" can range anywhere from being absolutely sound in a reasonable person's argument, to being completely idiotic and absurd in a moron's argument. See what I mean? We need to draw the line somewhere.

For example, Kakashi.

Kakashi has a couple of jutsus like Fire Ball: Great Fireball Technique and the Front Lotus, which are Anime-only. Why can't they be taken into account when having a VS thread or any type of discussion regarding Kakashi's character?

Kakashi has a sharingan, he is said to know over 1000 techniques.
Kakashi is an elite-jounin and also a genius who reached Jonin at age 12.

Why can't we attribute these skills to Kakashi? His affinity is lightning, but he has two other "canon" elements of Earth and Water. Kakashi being able to use D and C rank techniques for another elements is not unrealistic or highly unlikely.

Well, Kakashi said that high level Jounins are able to use 2 or 3 elements. Even if we were to assume Kakashi could use low D rank techniques fir Fire it would still mean he has that element, which is where the problem comes in.

Bare and simple, we haven't seen any hint that Kakashi can use Fire or Wind in the manga, so in that case we'd be giving him an entire skillset based on no evidence.

For example, ShinobiX.

He said that Itachi never killed any children or old, crippled men because the manga didn't show it. In fact, he said Sasuke was the only child in the whole Uchiha clan.

See what I mean? Above I mentioned how morons can bring up completely ridiculous points? You just proved it right there with that ShinobiX guy. The scenario is reversed, but my general point is the same.

If we don't draw the line somewhere, then it'd get even worse than this. People would be saying things like, "Sasuke could use the Rasengan because...uhh...he's a genius".



If we strictly hold back on anime exclusive material, then it only makes debates and arguments better because it forces us to work with what's already been presented - the facts

If we allowed anime material to influence our manga-related discussions then it only opens the door for people to barge in guns blazing full of assumptions of what they think "logical" means

Becuase mangakas very rarely have anything to do with anime studios, beside that they get paid from using their characters. Tite Kubo is one few exeptions he sometimes helps to create some character or line, but thats that. Kishi in one of his interviews himself said that he watches anime of his manga very rarely. I mentioned Claymore becuase in that case anime differs greatly from manga, in the end plot went in completely different way.

I think its probably best to just stick to the jutsus in the manga and what kishi says and no filler jutsus but things like sasuke being only child uchiha you should be able to take info from animr

The anime implies Hinata has naturally great chakra control in the manga and they (anime) just show it off better. So question: where in the manga was it stated/shown that Hinata had excellent chakra control?

Also, Hinata was never said to be a good medic or did anything to even suggest it. She never trained for it.

"Skilled" means "showing expertise". Just because a Hyuga has natural chakra control doesn't mean they can use it so effectively.

I hate how people disregard jutsus, events and people that are not in the Manga. Jutsus are usually directly related to the user's abilities and capacities and are completely logical and reasonable within Narutoverse. Same goes for events and people.

So why would Kishimoto used the double Fang sword the seven swordmen used??? Introduce in anime filler naruto ep 152 and brought back on chapter 523 ??? :shrug:

It gets rather confusing when anime and manga varies so differently from the other. Especially since different people would be arguing different facts.
