Yay! Here you get a general discussion thread by suggestion of Ira. I think this is pretty dope ^_^ She even said she'd stick it for some time, so let's have fun!
Now some general info:
Ao no exorcist (Blue exorcist- 青の祓魔師) is a manga written and illustrated by Kazue Katō that follows the life of Okumura Rin, a teenage boy that is a tad problematic (engages easily in fights and has some temper) yet good natured. He and his twin brother (Okumura Yukio) were raised by Father Shiro Fujimoto since they were born. The reason for this, however, is a mystery for Rin (and I'd dare to say that for me as well lol If you read the manga, you'll know that it's quite the mystery what exactly was Shiro thinking or what in the world is Mephisto planning), who is busy trying to find his way in life. Nonetheless his mundane life will change dramatically when he finds out the world we humans know is actually one of the two dimensions of this verse (Assiah), the remaining one being the world of demons (Gehenna). These two dimensions are joined as one, like a mirror. Normally nor humans nor demons can travel across or even have any kind of interaction with the opposing world, but this might soon change (I suspect we might read an arc of Rin and co. traveling to Gehenna...since there's a portal now...).
Usually the only kind of interaction possible between these two worlds is on demons part, who can pass over into this world by possessing anything that exist within it. Satan, the god of demons, has exactly that in mind, but he lacks something: and that's a powerful enough vessel to contain him!! Rin will soon find out that such vessel is...him. Created for that purpose, he is the son of Satan (tadum!) and a human woman (and thus he can exist naturally in both worlds)... What will Rin do regarding this?

Let's also discuss top10's, fav panels, characters, raws or whatever is related with this fantastic shonen (I'll even admit discussions about the anime hum!)
Now, I'll wait for Ira to kindly edit the tittle of the thread ^_^
I'd like to add a FAQ section:
1. Does it have an anime
Yes, it has a 25-episode anime plus an OVA ("Kuro's Trip Away from Home") and a movie (Ao no exorcist Gekijouban) launched a bit earlier this year .Does the anime diverge from the manga? Indeed. Quich leads to the next faq:
2. At what point does the anime diverge from the manga/from what chapter should I pick the manga from?
The anime diverges on the second fight against Amaimon (episodes 15-16). I'd recommend reading from the manga chapter #12.
3. Shoulder I read this manga?/ Is it worth reading?
Well if ya like action shonen manga, demon-related stories, plot twists, amazing character development and have some time between your hands, then YES! Go read Ao no Exorcist!
4. Is the anime worth watching/good?
Well, I hadn't watched it all, but for what I've seen it has an awesome animation, good OST and seiyus. Until it diverges from the manga, I'd say it is worth watching.
5. Will the anime get a second season/reboot?
Hum...can't tell. I hope it gets a reboot cuz can't see how'd they pull a second season with the ending the anime had. Ao no exorcist has been quite successful in Japan (true, not as successful as OP, but it has had a remarkable volume of sells), and there seems to be quite some interest from A-1 Pictures' staff. Only time will tell.
6. Is the movie any good?
I hadn't watched it myself (I will, next weekend prolly), but for what I've heard it's pretty enjoyable and decent.
Can't think on another FAQ.

We can start from this or discuss the previous chapters, whichever you preferI'm not going to bother posting pages and commenting as usual. If any of you read it, give this thread a shot and then we'll talk!
The only things I'll say for now is: what in the world?!Suddenly I feel like everything is so twisted! >:<
Also, re-reading the impure king arc, I noticed that Shima being the traitor wasn't as far-fetched as I believed at the beginning. Far before I read these chapters I realized why would Shima be the spy. Really good stuff.
