Suddenly the world around you turns black. You hear the ocean rumble, and, as a flash light makes you blink your eyes, you find yourself surrounded by the ocean. You hear the waves, feel the sand on your skin, the smell of the sea. And before you, me, in a white flowing dress.

The Box Jellyfishes are a class of invertebrates from the same phylum as normal Jellyfishes and other sea animals. They have a box-shaped floater from which several pairs of tentacles (commonly 2 pairs ) come out. These tentacles have thousands of minuscule structures called nematocysts, which are a defense mechanism. Once triggered, they act as small harpoons, piercing the skin of the attacker and injecting their venom.

Everything suddenly changes and you find yourself underwater, surrounded by box jellyfishes. You start suffocating.

Relax... This is only your imaginations. The ocean is not real.

As I allow you to calm down, I call forth one of the Boxes.

While in the ocean terrain and surrounded by the boxes, Shunsui simply freezes in amazement and doesn't take in anything else that left your mouth, this was simply a once in a lifetime experience for him and it wouldn't be interrupted by words. Suddenly without notice, Shunsui feels a jagged poke on his left hand that instantly directed his attention to a beautiful box floating with a tentacle barely touching him. Before he knows it his hand experiences an intense pain, this pain was sharp and directly on the point of where the venom was injected. After a few moments the pain deepened and started spreading further up his forearm, but along with the pain, Shunsui felt a high degree of burning that added to the pain.

Lili ! What the hell is this? How is he causing so much pain off of a mere touch? Is this some sort of illusion, no it can't be...

Little did Shunsui know, there was a venom inside of him that was causing cells to become porous enough to allow potassium leakage. This alone quickly causes "hyperkalemia" which can lead to cardiovascular collapse and even death within mere minutes.

As the pain begins, the ocean melts away, as the genjutsu is revealed, and reality shows itself. I'm standing next to you with a large box wrapped around my arms, with a single protruding tentacle over my finger and towards you.

Archipelago Boxes Venom: The standard venom produced by the archipelago boxes is an enhanced version of the standard Cubozoa venom. It contains a mixture of hemolytic and neuro-toxins. Upon infection, the target will feel great pain, worse than being burned, as the poison spreads. The hemolytic toxins and other disgestive enzimes will burn and melt the flesh they come in contact with producing terrible scars in their path. Some Archipelago Boxes may utilize a different variation of the venom, focusing on different venoms used by different species of the Cubozoa class, which will be fully described in the jutsu description of each summon

In addition to what you said, your skin melts away at the touch of the venem, as hemolytic toxins destroy the cells, leaving tentacles carved on your skin.

We're here, to do the most amazing and wonderful of travels! The journey to Shotou, the Archipelago. It is a beautiful bunch of small isles surrounded by an intricate formation of coral. The reef stretches far and wide, awe-inspiring to behold, but a deadly danger to navigate. Even simply walking through the water or the rocks with your chakra will reveal tricky, for the corals are breathing with life, and will throw off the the chakra, making you slip to your death. To navigate there, we will have to travel the northern sea of Kirigakure, through the toughest of currents and thickest of mist. But if you want to meet the Archipelago, you will need to do that. But now, lets begin.


I preform two handseals, and stretch my hands across the ground in front of you, as very sea-bitten and old bamboo scroll opens in front of me, encrusted with coral and moss. The sun sets behind me, casting the orange twilight on the scroll, filled with dark marks of dry blood, so much darker than they should be. The silence brings forth the indistinguishable murmur of unearthly voices, in a men forgotten language.

Bite your finger and touch the scroll. Your name shall be written, if the Boxes so decide. Or you shall die an horrible death, at your own accord.

Shunsui admires the way the Box is casually posted on your arm as if it was a normal, everyday thing. He grew even more impatient and dreaded the wait that was happening, he wanted to be a part of the Box contract, he wanted to familiarize himself with the boxes personally. As you explain the home of the jellyfish, Shunsui quietly takes in the information while envisioning the place that was described. He seemed to picture it perfectly, as if he had been there plenty of times in his young life. Silence broke over the area as Shunsui first stares at Lili followed by being froze in place as he glared at the contract that could possibly be the last thing he sees.

Oi, I could lose my life over a simple signature eh? Sounds like a foolish thing for me to do, but on the other hand..... What is so interesting about these creatures that death can be brought up during signing? What secrets do they hold? Hm, I have to find this out myself, of course you must believe I'm quite worthy if you brought me here so I think their judgment will mirror yours. Anyway, let me get comfortable just in case I die here.

Shunsui's signature Nekura cloak would now be fully visible thus showing that he had just played along with your illusion you thought was on him. He let off a gentle smile towards Lili while taking a kunai in his left hand and making a small cut on his right index finger. With that done, he kneels down on his right knee and in one quick motion signs his name; Shunsui Nekura, right under the previous signatures.

The voices halt altogether, as the blood touches the scroll. As the bamboo darkens, tainted in crimson, it starts to rot and turn black, soaking the blood through.

And now, the judgment.

In absolute silence, as the sun finishes setting. Once we plunge into darkness, several tendrils of box tentacles protrude from your blood and grab your arm, covering it whole. The pain is unbearable as the tentacles pull you down and force you to kneel before me. Still in perfect darkness, only my eyes glow in your world.

Do not assume to fool the contract bearer, not before the blood of the summoners.

My glare is dark and my breath is rot. The words stick like the burning daggers on your arm. But in the horizon a mere greenish light appears, cleansing away the decay, and vanishing the darkness, as an indescribable black word rises, written in blood on the surface of the scroll. You look upon it, and you are unable to read it, yet it feels too familiar, too true, too you. It has written your very essence. And you're now bound by blood with the Cubozoa contract. The tentacles are gone, as if they were never there, yet the spiral carvings on your arm, fresh and red, are hot and molten reality.

The Boxes have decided to humble you down before letting you in. But in you are. Welcome to the family

Now, this gives you the ability to summon any Box in the Archipelago, and also allows you to be summoned by them. But before, you must prove your worth, and travel there in person, to further tighten your bond.

After being accepted by the boxes and going through the very rare experience, Shunsui pauses for a moment to gather his thoughts and snap back into reality before speaking again..

"Y-yes. I'm in a bit of temporary pain but it'll pass soon. So, where do we start Lili-sama?"

As for our journey, it must start, as it always does, with a guide. I figure you already know the standard summoning technique? Approach the shore and bring forth your chakra. Find the right amount of chakra, and summon an average sized Box from Shotou into the water.

After speaking to Lili and receiving the proper instructions, Shunsui lazily makes his way to the shore. Once he made it to the shore, he'd usechakra in the soles of his feet in order to balance himself on the water and walk a few meters out. With this done Shunsui quickly bites his thumb again to draw out more blood since it had already dried up from the signing. Qui".ckly following that, Shunsui builds up a moderate amount of chakra throughout his body while simultaneously imagining a random box summon. The picture in his head was so realistic, as if he had already met this box in person, though he hadn't. After reaching the proper chakra levels and claerly visualizing the summon, he'd perform the five hand seals for the generic summon technique followed by pressing his palms against the waters surface. The result is a quick yet small poof of smoke which hAppens under water. Emerging from the smoke, floating around the water like a feather in the wind would be a purplish, mid sized box.

The summoning is unsuccessful. You summon a small larvae. Though there is power in the larva, why is that?

Well to my understanding (reading your box summons, box arts etc) the larvae is summoned due to insufficient amount of chakra being used for the summon, thus resulting in summoning a larvae. The larvae can grow into full grown boxes after two turns, but after one turn.they turn into polyps.. I'm not sure exactly what exactly the larvae can do, but that's why we're training, so you can fill me in on what I don't know already..

Using the Canon Summoning Jutsu, you're able to summon either larvae or polyps (Or any sized box). These will not do much, expect polyps, whose tentacles already have a few nematocysts. But they can remain hidden in the water, transparent to the normal eye, until they grow, and serve as a time bomb of sorts. And, if applicable, they can use Box Arts, so it's always nice to have in mind the possibilities.

Okay so, let's travel. Make a boat.

Ahhh ok. So larvae can be used or planted somewhere to be used later on when they grow right?

I go around the immediate area to find wood and other applicable items that'll be used to create the boat.. once that is done, I sit down and begin making by hand, a boat for us to travel on. As I make the boat I think to myself that you must be crazy, making such a soon to be legend hand make a boat. Like you didn't know we'd need one in the first place. After a few looooooong hours, I finally put the final touches on a beat up, two man boat, along with 4 paddles made from random planks...

"there ya go! Hop aboard"
