Take a look at this page:
This page clearly shows that Madara realizes his Moon Eye plan after reading the Uchiha's Secret Tablet.
We all know by now that Madara' tsukiyomi tech involves the moon, this is back up by the moon eye plan where in he
created the plan by studying his distant ancestor, the Sage of the Six Paths. He resolved to gather the nine tailed beasts and merge them with the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path in order to revive the Ten-Tails. Then, he would become its jinchūriki and use its god-like power to reflect his Mangekyō Sharingan on to the moon, which had previously served as a container for the Ten-Tails' body, and shroud the world in an "Infinite Tsukuyomi".
Now take a look at this pics:
In here, Madara prepares for the final moments of the fight between him and Hashirama by Activating his EMS.
In here Tsukuyomi is activated as emphasize by the moon.
Now notice that Madara's EMS is now deactivated.
Why would he do that in the most crucial point of their death match?
answer:
Because the Illusions that Madara wanted to stage his death was already commencing.
Now take a look at this page wherein Obito goes on a rampage after seeing Rin's death:
Notice that the moon is also present suggesting there was tsukuyomi involved.
See how Obito questioned for a moment where is he at the moment? and the whole time Obito was on his way to save Rin and Kakashi, he was disoriented in the whole chapter(check the picture below)? Thats because his dojutsu was struggling to fight off the genjutsu but alas, Madara's Eye tech was far more superior.(I'm not saying that Kakashi didnt kill Rin, I'm just stating that there was genjutsu involved)
Now let me go back on why Madara's death was stage.
The wood bushin is the most perfect clone in narutoverse and this would explain why the white Zetsu, which was Hashi's inferior clone could use the substitute technique to near perfection.

He seemed shock that it was a wood bushin..and now it would seem that Hashirama tricked him with the tech...but we all know better do we?
Madara was able to see through the wood bushin thus he involved his plan with it.
