There is little argument regarding who is the most mysterious character in the Narutoverse. "Madara Uchiha" as he claims to be (whether your skeptic or not) is extraordinarily cunning, manipulative, knowledgeable, and powerful. Whether he is or isn't the real Madara Uchiha makes little difference in the grand scheme of things. We can touch on the details later, but he has currently amassed an incredible amount of strength to wage war with.
As it stands he has...
* Literally hundreds of thousands of white Zetsu clones
* The rinnegan
* Enough sharingans to fill a room
* 7 out of 9 bijuus
* Sasuke
* Zetsu (black & white)
* Kabuto's allegiance
* The Gedo Mazo statue
* Harashima Senju's DNA
* Intel from Kisame & Yamato
In order to understand Madara's plans one must first understand Madara's state of mind. My first question is why would Madara declare war at the Kage Summit and give up the advantage of surprise? It would seem that like most of his plans he always has ulterior motives.
Examples; while teamed with Deidara it was really Madara's intent to observe Sasuke's current power. Sending Sasuke to capture the Eight-tails was again to test Sasuke's power (with added bonus of possible bijuu). Nagato attacking the Leaf was to acquire bijuu, but also destroy the Leaf village helping to further manipulate Sasuke. The kage summit was to push Sasuke to overuse his mangekyou sharingan and declare war. Kisame was sent to capture the eight tails but only after acquiring intel.
We've seen countless times that Madara is an extremely shrewd man. He is always 2 or 3 steps ahead of the game with his plans. Even as far back as the 9-tails incident 15/16 years ago. I digress; going back to my question why would he announce war rather than maintain the element of surprise? I believe that Madara plans to exploit the war preparations made by the alliance. The Zetsu clones are clearly (from what we've seen) weak soldiers, but have overwhelming numbers. My guess is this is the main diversion with Kabuto's pawns adding a great deal more force to the battle plan. Where ever Madara is, is where the real battle is being waged. I somewhat expect him to confront Killer Bee & Naruto in hopes of capturing Bee and observing Naruto's control of the 9-tails. Knowing Madara he would likely use Naruto's good-nature and nieveity in order to gain an advantage, perhaps to make an opening to capture Killer Bee. Of course this is just speculation, but I do think it is in line with Madara's character.
Originally, I was a skeptic regarding Madara's claim to be the original Madara Uchiha. Although after observing the facts over and over it does seem that at the very least he himself believes to be the original Madara Uchiha or that his is of Uchiha blood. He without question is afflicted by an incredible amount of hatred and a burning desire to see the world bow to the Uchiha name. I find the whole Moon's Eye plan to unite the world and achieve peace be another hoax. The real Madara Uchiha lived for the fight and the fight alone. In a way I believe it was the only way he could validate his existence. When the Uchiha clan agreed to a peace treaty to end the violence and bloodshed that haunted the clan for generations Madara claimed that all the sacrifice was in vein because of the concessions for peace by his fellow clansmen. I don't believe for a moment the BS story he gave Kisame about a genjutsu for world peace. This is a simple grudge nothing more and nothing less. That is why I believe Madara identifies so well with Sasuke. I also believe that while Madara wants to maintain control of Sasuke if for some reason Madara should die I believe he intends for Sasuke to carryout his final revenge. This is tricky because while Madara clearly has an ego problem if anyone was to take up his mantle it is clearly Sasuke. Madara has been grooming Sasuke for quite sometime in order to minimize risk of defection or betrayal.
Here are some of the loose ends that I feel will sway the outcome of the war...
* Kabuto's mystery coffin and the other ace he has up his sleeve
* Naruto's "that jutsu"
* Sasuke's new eyes
* Itachi's power given to Naruto
What do you all think?
Thanks for reading and I look forward to your responses.
