Yes, but did that statement come with a point? So far the only uchiha we know of that was able to summon the demon fox was Madara, so bringing the fox into the fight is stating a Madara vs, in this case, Pain battle. Which as I stated is a battle that could be swayed by experience and has very little to do with eye techs.

Just to solidify the Madara > Itachi idea:

Itachi says he is the only one who CAN surpass Madara. Meaning he hasn't done it yet, but has the potential to do so. The only problem with it is that he was talking to Sasuke, which probably means he wasn't being completely honest. But the way I see it, he was telling Sasuke this so that Sasuke would have the drive to prove Itachi wrong, and surpass Madara himself.

n in kishi's interview he said tht th 4th was th strongest currently dead ninja's, n tht was after itachi died....n th 4th said to naruto in his head tht madara saw through all his plans, n he mentioned tht he ws nt like other shinobi, n tht a person wud need a special power, tech whtevr to beat hm, n thts why he sealed th kyuubi in naruto...

so if madara is stronger thn th 4th, n th 4th is strngr thn itachi, obviously madara is stronger.....i thnk sasgauy might eventually become stronger thn madara.
