First hokage isn't that great at all honestly. He got rekted by basic edo madara which they both were at the same level.
So yeah too much praise they were evenly matched when they were alive and pre edo.

The only reason this isn't a stomp, is that you restricted all genjutsu and not just sharingan genjutsu. Otherwise Ephemeral and a kunai would solo low diff. With the restrictions, Madara mid diff.
