Madara is the most unique villain in the manga and undeniably has the best characterization. He isnt some typical villain who wants an answer from Nardo.

He doesn't want world domination per se, he wants to save the world. If you re-read the chapter explaining the Madara ideology, you will realize that he has a messiah complex.

Oh god people actually didn't read the OP lol

If you actually see back into Madara's story, you will actually see that he's not just some "I will rule the world!" kind of villain.

He lived through a warring period. Even as a kid, he questioned whether there will ever be mutual understanding. You can actually see how he slowly began to lose hope until finally, a solution(in his eyes atleast) was presented to him.

Learning about the truth of chakra made him feel hopeless. Even if the whole world turned against him, he would still strive towards the peace he dreamt of even if it's an illusion.

So I believe he feels like this, "They may hate me now but once they experience this dream world, they won't regret it."

I do think he is a good character.
