I like how fun he is to watch as a villain. His speeches may be annoying, but when he saw Hashirama for the first time in years, that was priceless. XD He also has a decent backstory.

I think he's a well written, and well developed character with all of the backstory he has gotten. Madara is probably my 3rd favorite villain after Orochimaru and Obito. Still, I feel like Obito was much more of an interesting villain. Obito was like Ashura at first, then when he fell into darkness, I feel like he resembled Indra. Obito first had the will of fire, then he adopted the curse of hatred, and I loved him as a villain because of that.
