You speak of the 8th gate as if it takes a ridiculously amount of time to open, when Gai only has to tap his heart as far as we know. So, what did Madara do? looked at him for a couple of seconds?

Madara could have killed him when he was in the 7th gate...madara wanted to see the 8th so that's the only reason he used it

Pretty sure that you are a fanboy yourself. Guy can instant open all the 8th Gate in no time even if they try to harm him before that.

You know that Guy would have soloed Itachi and Kakashi in an instant. Yata Mirror is nothing compared to Evening Elephant, and all Guy can do is to get behind his Susano and spam his attack. Itachi cannot use Susano everytime, but Itachi's Genjutsu is not that strong enough to hold Guy and he knows well that Guy can fight against Sharingan users.
