Think about all that we know about Madara, He challenged Hashirama Senju to a battle collecting samples of his cells but he was indeed defeated. Madara challenged Hashirama to take him down but realized he could not, fortunately madara is king of the backup plan. This body as i said before was grown from his cells with a touch of hashirama thrown in as spice leaving him enough uchiha to sync with the sharingan effortlessly and giving him enough senju to use izanagi. he then disposed of his orginal body and continued training in his current body to master the sharingan (which he had not done at the time or hashirama would have been taking a dirt nap). now i don't know exactly what pact he made with the devil to achieve such longevity (long life) but i suspect it was around the time he discovered that he could create in nagato the rinnengan either on purpose or by accident using the boy to test out its abilities (because lets face it he wasn't going to give up the sharingan for nothing). now here in the present he is attempting to gather within himselves all of the pieces necessary to become the reincarnation of the rikudo sage (rumored to be the ten tails beast's host). he has the body, he has the eyes, he just needs the unlimited power of the hosts..., EVERYTHING ELSE is a ruse for everyone to chase smoke while his plan burns brightly to the side. Itachi watched him carefully, Itachi would never let him get away with it, Itachi could stop him because Itachi read the secret scrolls and was bad ass enough to end the entire uchiha clan so yeah madara respected him and feared him. as far as who was in that coffin not entirely sure could be his ma, pa, bro, or little timmy jenkins who he used to experiment with at summer camp, who knows but the rest of what i have stated holds firm.

mmm, this is very interesting, it all pieces together very well and its hard to put up an arguement to make you completely forget about this theory and start believing that madara is the original madara, ofcourse that is partly because im still on the fence about whether or not madara is the original or not myself. anyway, everything u said sounded pretty on point, but 1 thing is that if your theory about madara cloning himself and putting his power into that clone is true, how would he have binded his soul to that clone, because your example was itachi givin his power to naruto and sasuke, and while that is true that itachi was able to do that, his soul was not bound in there with those powers and naruto as sasuke both remained in control of their body and consciousness. so wouldnt the madara "clone" have his own free will and not have all the memories of the original madara? im pretty sure madara isnt very good with sealing techniques so i dont think he would be able to pull such a thing off, the only 1 who was able to do this technique u describe was orochimaru but the only difference is he didnt use a clone body. now im just playing devils advocate here so im not completely against your theory because like i said im still on the fence about this topic too. but yea, id like to hear your defence :]

whatever the theories madara is madara even if he has cloned himself by using the white zetsu ( cuz the white Zetsu can clone anyone he touches even down to his charka) but madara is madara because kisame has seen his true face and knows him more than anyone in akatsuki accept maybe the black and white zetsu. but if kisame and itachi reffered to him as being Madara Uchiha what esle is there to say. i know he is a mystery but. kisame itachi and pain have confirmed that he is madara. it is a mystery of how he lived for so long but we will find that out.

you got a nice point but madara ever feared itachi okay because it wwas itachi who sought out madara to help him kill his clan. madara just didnt touch the village becuase he had made a deal with itachi not too. but now that itachi is gone. madara is free to reign havoc

um anyways your theory seems possible. It was a little hard to read cuz everything is bunched up try makeing paragraphs and more periods. This theory reminds me of how Orochimaru stays alive (or stayed alive at the time he was alive?).

the sharingan has many techs including the ability to project whatever you wish into the mind of another...ie: itachi showing sasuke how he murdered the uchihas though sasuke was not there. so giving the memories is not very difficult.

you aren't against me but ur reasoning is flawed that will lead others to think they can punch holes in the theory...

if u look at when gai laid the supreme smack down on kisame you will notice that when they read his mind they see him kill his master and take his sword also the mizukage congratulates him while being controlled by madara who kisame then acknowledges as the mizukage seeing as he is in control but then he tells him his name is madara and kisame just believes him. so kisame has been searching for something to believe in his whole life so he just goes along with it.
as for itachi i think he believed him as well. being young someone who had such power and knew about the mangekyuo and all the uchiha secrets would be a credible madara
and zetsu... I honestly think madara created zetsu, but if not zetsu believes in madara the way many of orochimaru's followers believed in him

so none of these people are credible verifiers of madara's identity.

now considering that we have seen madara toy with the hokages as if they were rookie genin "oh well then let the fourth nija war begin" -- deal or no freaking deal why do you think he would hesitate to kill itachi and seek out sasuke from the jump raisng him in his own perverted image.

he is cautious of kabuto because of his trump edo tensei but believe that he would have killed anko and sent kabuto to oblivion had he not explained the edo technique then and there

listen kisame didnt just believe him please read it again. when that guy was searching his memories kisame said show your face to madara cuz he realized he was controlling the sanbi/mizukage and madara said "okay believe if you want to" and he step out to show himself . then in the other image it showed aoba nervous !! and kisame bit his tongue so they wouldnt get info outta him. then when kisame was looking at madara grinning at his plan. but he stepped out into the light where kisame seen and looked at him.

Its an interesting theory. You left out something that could be very strong support for your idea of "Tobi" being a clone body using Madara and Hashirama's DNA. When Tobi had his arm destroying by Torune and Fu and he regrew it, it appeared to be made of the same material as Zetsu. Originally I thought this was because Zetsu had managed to save Madara using his body material after Madara was "killed" by Hashirama. However since we now know that Tobi created Zetsu from Hashirama's cells we know thats untrue.

Something I found really interesting was Tobi's interest in Edo Tensei. He wanted every little detail. I think this may have been because a few different reasons. First, it could have simply been a method for Kishi to fully explain how Edo Tensei worked. Second, it could have been because he felt threatened by it. Third, and what I think may be the right choice, is that he wanted to learn its secrets so he could us it for himself.

Maybe the body he is currently using is imperfect. We know that hes been referred to as a shell of his former self, so theres certainly something missing. I think its possible that this "cloned" version of Madara is currently soulless. And this is the problem. A "shell" is something that appears whole on the outside, but is empty on the inside. This would be a perfect metaphor for something which is soulless. I think that maybe due to the cells of Madara being a part of Tobi, his thoughts and memories are still intact. This is why he refers to himself as Madara, because in essence he is Madara.

This also explains the final coffin of which Kabuto raised. If what I previously said is true, its very possible that Kabuto raised the soul of Madara and is holding it as a bargaining chip. Kabuto knows that this "Tobi" is a soulless version of Madara, and he knows that in order to become complete Tobi needs to regain his soul. As long as Kabuto has the soul in his possession, Madara is at his will.

And this is why Madara was so interested in Edo Tensei. Its the jutsu he needs in order to reattach his soul to his body. Hes trying to learn how to use the technique so he can bring back his soul, and once again become whole.
