[Theory] Madara is the next Itachi

Or to be more precise, Madara has always been like Itachi, but through all these years. He's obviously a great ninja, and a great ninja's life is in the shadows. We have never heard anything from his point of view, it was all through Tobi and Tobi is a straight liar.

Madara is not the kind of person who would want to live under an infinite Tsukuyomi, he's too prideful and loves the idea of fighting. So I really don't think he will help with the Eye of the Moon plan.

He was heard speaking of a "plan" with someone else during his battle with the kages, but then again that person was no other than Orochimaru. The only plan he was referring to was about him being revived.

Naruto & friends would not stand a chance against Madara + Tobi with the Juubi so I also find it very unlikely that Madara will just join Tobi's side and put an end to this story. However, Madara siding up with Naruto to fight the Juubi together sounds like a much more plausible battle.

He's never been proven to be truly evil. He fought for his clan, and that's all we know from his point of view. Everything else was told to us from Konoha's point of view (or Tobi's, who is a liar) so it's obvious he'll sound like a villain who tried to assassinate Hashirama.

It's just like Itachi before we learned all the truth. We only ever heard things from Sasuke's point of view, and then when we got Itachi's side it was all very, very different.

The difference is that Madara relies more on brute force and taunting his opponent; Itachi was always reserved and tried to finish his battles quickly without showing off everything he could do.

Before the Itachi-elitists show up, good comparison. I like what you're saying. As for the not going along with tobi's plan, EMS could break out of the MEP(Moon eye plan). So Sasuke, Tobi, Madara, Kakashi might have a chance to get out of genjutsu. Diabolically planned so that the only people who could easily escape it where wiped out, no?

Itachi was a person that kept secrets his entire life. He cared about everyone besides himself and those that threaten the ones he loved. He was a great and powerful Shinobi. He tried to end each fight with any leaf shinobi so that they wouldn't get hurt. He defeated one of the most feared shinobi's in the world in a few seconds, he took down Kabuto in very short time. He was strong, kind, smart.. He was the perfect Shinobi .

He never thinks of anyone or anything besides himself, and care all about power. He is sinister to the root and would toy around with his enemy before brutally killing them. He tried to destroy the village and kill the Hokage to show his own strength. He have no intention of helping unless it benefits him. He wanted war, he is strong and smart, but evil to the core. He is proud of nothing but himself and he sees everyone besides Hashirama as weak insects that needs to be wiped off the earth. He loves to fight and win.

And who told you Madara is the way you just described him? You can't know, we never had his point of view.

Just seeing him fight and the way he talk. It show just how he talks that he think of himself as better than everyone else. He didn't even hesitate to try and kill the Kages...

No he wouldn't.. He is to proud of himself to use it a 2nd time. I never though Itachi as a bad person. Just a person left without alot of options. I always though him as a good guy. Itachi never showed that he cared about himself. I got that under the fight in the leaf. Where doesn't even hurt his enemies just fend them off. He did always... -.-

I think he was more like Sasuke when he was alive, obsessed with the pride of the Uchiha and "restoring" them. Itachi put the village first, Madara put the clan first...or tried to anyway.

I think it's a cool theory. It goes with his love of his clan and his village, which he's expressed both, he just hates the Senjus because he doesn't trust them to do what's best for both the Uchiha and Konoha. He's prideful, arrogant and loves fighting, but those three descriptions could just as easily be used for Guy. Maybe a few others like Neji too. Tsunade certainly, A most likely... The list goes on. Arrogance is certainly not synonymous with evil and honestly I'm a little offended by claiming it is.

That being said the theory is sort of debunked by that one time he used two meteorites to kill thousands of people but otherwise interesting.
