[Theory] Madara is the next Itachi

Now to my real point, wouldn't what you're saying make Itachi the new Madara? I understand you mean Madaras' character is following Itachis' chracter with this reveal twist but it seems as if Itachi lived according to Madaras' ideals.

Well, this would certainly make for an interesting twist, which surely makes it more probable. But I just don't see it happening, primarily because Madara is irredeemable in my eyes. He's an arrogant ****, and even if he turns out to be a "good" guy, I'll still hate him. Just like Sasuke.

tbh I like Madara. Unlike Sasuke he admits when people do something impressive or somehow out maneuver/perform him, even if it's only long enough to slide his 'holding back' meter down another notch, and also unlike Sasuke he actually has the ability to back up his talk. Sasuke's pretty tough but lots of people have been out-performing him lately (Itachi, Naruto, Tobi, most of the Kages, Madara himself, Kabuto...)

Madara? He's taking on 5 Kages at once, holding back, and STILL WINNING. I don't know, when you're THAT above everyone else you sort of earned a right to be arrogant.

Thats an excellent point your bringing up. Why would somebody like Madara create such peaceful (boring) world? He seems like the type that enjoys combat to the core. He's more of a warlord. Desiring to create a world where he cant fight anyone feels like its out of character for him.

I really don't think it's that unlikely. The only major counterpoint is that he's killed a lot of people so far, but, as a more-arrogant Itachi it's not impossible that he just believes it's worthy collateral.

He's shown that he cares deeply about his village and clan, he's said many times he respected Hashirama for both his power and dedication, and even if he could just control people into fighting him, that's still a known outcome. Like arm-wrestling yourself or playing against yourself in chess, you're always going to know the next move, you're always going to know the outcome, you're never going to be challenged or surprised.

If there's any reason Madara would want to go through with this plan it'd be because he doesn't think anyone is strong enough anymore so there's no point... Maybe getting a good fight from Naruto will change his mind. The more I think about it the more this theory makes sense.

(offtopic: these are all excellent points as to why Tobi can't possibly be Madara, they're just so radically different.)

Or to be more precise, Madara has always been like Itachi, but through all these years. He's obviously a great ninja, and a great ninja's life is in the shadows. We have never heard anything from his point of view, it was all through Tobi and Tobi is a straight liar.

Madara is not the kind of person who would want to live under an infinite Tsukuyomi, he's too prideful and loves the idea of fighting. So I really don't think he will help with the Eye of the Moon plan.

He was heard speaking of a "plan" with someone else during his battle with the kages, but then again that person was no other than Orochimaru. The only plan he was referring to was about him being revived.

Naruto & friends would not stand a chance against Madara + Tobi with the Juubi so I also find it very unlikely that Madara will just join Tobi's side and put an end to this story. However, Madara siding up with Naruto to fight the Juubi together sounds like a much more plausible battle.

He's never been proven to be truly evil. He fought for his clan, and that's all we know from his point of view. Everything else was told to us from Konoha's point of view (or Tobi's, who is a liar) so it's obvious he'll sound like a villain who tried to assassinate Hashirama.

It's just like Itachi before we learned all the truth. We only ever heard things from Sasuke's point of view, and then when we got Itachi's side it was all very, very different.

no he wnats to achieve this plan aswell, he said during the kage figh, "this world should be in an eternal sleep" or soemthing to that affect mid way their battle after kabuto left muu to go in another direction.

We may have only heard of what tobi has said in his behalf but madara hasnt shown us anything to the contray of madara's personally hes shown us.

Madara repeatly has said things like the only thing that matters is power.
